I recently purchased the A7RIII, along with 4 Sony GM lenses. My previous gear was all Leica, which does not have extensive menus and setup information like Sony. After reviewing 3-6 other sites on how to set-up my camera I found your presentation which was outstanding. I was intrigued by the vast amount of information you provided and it was extremely helpful in allowing me to transition to Sony gear. I will continue to follow your video's and look forward to visiting your site. Thank You, Bud P.

This is perfect....exactly what I was looking for! As a longtime Canon shooter (since 1974) I recently added the Sony A7Riii to my 'bag' and I am using the Sigma MC-11 adapter with all of my Canon & Sigma glass. The Canon menu system is second nature to me so I really appreciate your very thorough and easy-to-understand explanation of Sony's menu system. This will get me up and shooting much more quickly. I am blown away by the build quality of the A7Riii...built like a tank. Thank you for your time and effort in creating this tutorial. Cheers!

Thanks, Kevin. This is way better than any camera book out there. You did an excellent job and explained most of the items on the camera menu.

Best video on menu. I made some different menu choices, but appreciate your effort . I am loving my A7R3, upgraded from A7R2. Also have A6500. Thanks so much.

Thank you. I just changed over to Sony and bought a A7R3 and a 24-70 GM lens. I was not familiar with the menu on this camera and now know my way around the settings. looking forward to using the Sony.

Excellent video. One thing you might mention on the time/date stamp is whenever traveling overseas to change the time/date stamp to the area you're in. That way, the photos will remain in the date folder they were taken. I traveled to Africa and my photos were split between days because the dates at home changed mid day in Africa. Thanks for sharing this video in a good organized manner!!

Very comprehensive rundown for photographers except you didn't address video, in particular the HDMI settings, which is what I was hoping for. It always amazes me that many photographers don't bother to explore using these camera for video.

Thanks a lot Kevin for taking the time and putting so much effort into making such a complete and excellent video. As a Sony user who actually uses these bodies in the field, I'd like to ask you a question. Do you ever miss the benefit of a fully articulating LCD when shooting low angle pictures with vertical composition? Such as when shooting a vertical picture of a flower looking up from down under? The tilt only screens are all good for video and horizontal shots but I feel that the need for vertical composition flexibility is totally overlooked or ignored. The A99 series have this already but not the mirrorless bodies. I hope it makes it into the mirrorless models as well. But people don't seem to be complaining too much and I don't understand why. I thought that at least some pros would point it out.

Hi Kevin. Thank you for this resource! I am hoping you can answer a configuration question for me that has me stumped! My a7iii has 'AF w/ Shutter" set to off but despite that, regardless of which mode I'm in the half press of the shutter _still_ focuses on the selected AF area. Only in full manual focus does it not. This makes focus-and-recompose impossible. I mapped af-on to the AF-ON button and focus hold to AE AF button.

Sync speed disappointment - A7riii After using the Sony A7riii in the studio this week, I have learnt that you cannot achieve a sync speed of 250/1 as stated by Sony with regular studio lights such as Profoto D1's (none HSS). I used 200/1, but every image suffers from a sync shadow down one side - something that I've got to explain to my client! I could have settled on 160/1 which probably would have removed this ugly grey shadow, but I would have got blur from my subject as they had movement. The subject is going to be cut out, with the background removed, so it's not a disaster, but that's not the point. If I had know that I could not achieve 250/1, I would not have bought this camera as it's limiting. So this week will begin my complaint with the retailer, which is a shame as I thought I bought a near perfect camera. Interestingly none of the regular you tubers who push Sony cameras have not brought this little detail to the fore...hmmmm

That was awesome, I order the A7III 2 days ago (ex Nikon shooter), so when I was in the store, I had the A7RIII for about an hour, since no one was looking for and they said the menu was the same. After an hour, I was kind of discouraged, the Menu is horrible, I could not do much, I couldn't fine things, I ask the store manager (pro photographer Nikon shooter) he tried, but couldn't as well. I'm very excited to get my camera, I do believe i has a lot of potential, but I was really worry about the Menu. After look at this video (100%), ell, I'm worrying about the workflow, if there's anyway to get around in a fast manner, but least now I have an idea on how the menu is "structure", so I'm more relieved, let's put this way. Thanks.
