Luna Summing API vs Neve

In this video, we'll check the mix against the Neve Summing and the API Summing inside of Universal Audio's Luna Recording System. I have to admit, I was very surprised by the difference in the two!

API on the mix bus is dope and has more punch, neve on everything else

I was thinking the same thing. Neve sounds wider and thicker to me. Definitely worth the extra $ to have it in Luna.

Nice ! I agree that the biggest difference is due to having mixed it already in Neve. Still, I wish I had your ears and could really tell the difference as well as you can. Perhaps committing at the beginning and mixing into it is the only way to truly know which one suits the material best. In General, the Neve (RIP Rupert) adds more color, but I think the API more clarity.....I just did a version of 'I hear you knockin' and used API on all the busses and then Neve on the 2 bus, and that seemed to work pretty well. Good stuff man, thanks a lot !!

Very hot mix you've got there or it was uploaded low quality audio but i DO feel quite a difference. Feel the Neve has some nice presence but feel the API much more up front and personal.

listening on my genelecs - very little difference - API cleaner but ---- when someone says theres a huge difference it makes wonder if they are obsessive

Is the Neve summing with apollo owners only? I have the 30 day demo and it works native.. but once it's up I can't use it???

Headphones on. Sure wish I could hear the difference but I do not. Not even either in/out. Nada! Need a new set of ears?
