Yep, if you paid attention to the computer it was written Dec 31 1999 And the time a little bit on the right was 11:55 Then when Albrecht or presumably Man in the wall descends the stairs the monitor in the top right showing 11:59. Very close to 2000 Then turned to 12:00 that's when Wally started his void stuff or something

A really cool detail: the crowd counting down and shouting happy new year at the end of the demo is the crowd at tennocon. During an earlier panel (the art panel iirc) the devs asked them to all count down and say that together without explaining why. DE recorded it and added it to the demo by the time it played later in the day. Completely unnecessary, but absolutely awesome

Isn't dark sector just the start of warframe since they're made by the same people

Two different stories and games. The original Dark Sector concepts are closer to what Warframe is now, but the Dark Sector that released was heavily influenced the publisher at the time, and wasn't quite the vision the developers had. Ultimately, they're separate and unrelated outside of some iconography and concepts. And of course, the word Tenno.
