I've never been to Seattle and goodness knows how long it'll be before I DO finally make it that way, but this still feels really cozy. This series and channel was a good call, Kenji. I was introduced to Matt’s Chili Dogs way back in the day, want to say early 2000’s when they had a location in Bellevue on 110th ave ne, I loved it. Wish there were more hot dog joints. Btw, love your channel, found it a few weeks ago. Fun seeing teriyaki places I used to go to, and finding new ones the rare occasion I make it up to Seattle.

I haven't been to Matt's but the best chili dogs ever are at Pinks in Hollywood. The place opened in 1939. Next time you're in LA, try to wander by there. I'd be interested in what you think.

There use to be multiple locations of Matt's. I always preferred their Chicago dog, and back in the day they also use to make a really good pastrami sandwich.

Matt's used to have a Ballard location, and before that, a location in Bellevue as well. I *think* the Marginal Way location was the first, and it's been there for at least 24 years.

Not usually in that area, but I love a chili dog, so may venture there soon. I work on the waterfront in downtown and The Frankfurter stand is pretty good. Usually get a kosher or spicy hot dog, but sometimes get a kosher chili dog or 2. Sometimes get the chili separate and add myself at the office.

In N Out you can order whole raw onions and you can ask them to but it on the pattie or on the veggies! On the pattie, a raw onion will get the residual heat for the pattie and sorta cook a little. Obviously, a raw onion on the veggies will stay cold. It does make a difference in taste of the burger!

I'm excited for this new channel! I need to try Matt's. A a great chili dog at home, I use Boars Head beef (natural case) dogs with Wolf no bean chili, slice of cheddar and mustard, soft bun. Still looking for a good poppy seed bun. Any recommendations?

Katsu burger in Lake Steven pissed me off. There's a Ghalbi Burger in Smokey Point and they have a location on Broadway in Seattle. I recommend them.

Well Chilly Dog is the name of the mascot for Slush Puppy brand slushee drinks. But Tastee Freez makes a mean chili dog. So the line works on multiple levels.

I didn’t think Callozzie cheese steak was very good. Original Phillies is the best IMO, you should check it out next time you’re craving one. And the tatsrami at tats is a next level Philly-inspired sandwhich.

You haven't had the true experience of what a hotdog can be until you've been to "The Red Hot" in Tacoma. "The Cowboy" is so good that when you take a bite the glorious juices from within burst out into your mouth. Baked beans on the side with house made coleslaw. I get the pun. I just don’t think that it’s realistic to suggest this is what he was thinking. It’s very clearly an innuendo in reference to something that is more akin to a wiener than a cold drink, and chili-topped hot dogs are also just a summertime staple at the type of ice cream stand he’s referring to. Nothing about “Chilly Dog” makes sense as a reference to a slush puppy.

naw you're good kenji this is defo georgetown. if you went a couple blocks north one could argue you're in the uglier of the two IDs (industrial district lol), but it's right across the street from Katsu which is in my head super a georgetown place, and a block from georgetown staple art space Equinox Studios. if georgetown is known for food, bars, and art, a lot of it is right there.
