I worked at a charter school that was able to give kids healthy lunches (whole grain turkey wraps with low fat cheese for example instead of hot dogs and cheese burgers my school did) only low sugar cereals (corn flakes instead of frosted flakes, cheerios were okay but no fruit loops) they found a way to make it work with same budget as the local public schools!

We have them at my school, and oh my goodness they are horrible. They aren’t healthy and the pizza ones are frozen. As a Muslim when that’s the only vegan option it’s really frustrating when I have to eat frozen pizza for lunch. They also do not include fruits and have a side of miniature cookies.

Also your lying about fruit since I just googled and it said the highest is 0.1 and the mean is 0.02. Also you gotta consider how small lunchables packages are so that's even worse. Imagine eating two packs of that garbage.

i teach at a public high school in new york city. the default lunches NOW are unhealthy. it is OLD fried food, NOT freshly made, mostly fried chicken pieces or such. sometimes you get lucky and get a clean protein such as baked drumsticks. rarely is there fresh salad. breakfast is trash cereals and serving sizes are TINY for teenagers when they need about 2 to 3000 calories and most of these kids eat most of their food at school as my school has poor kids and they do not really eat at home. it is terrible.
