question sir, 57 yr old non-smoking male, after long infection (lots of green stuff coughed up), still have hard cough on waking up, much less stuff coming up now, but cough still there...also on full exhale heavy wheeze and have to cough, otherwise I'm fine--can fully inhale (little bit of discomfort but no sound). Do I just have to wait this out? Could have started as strep, bronchitis...could have ended up as pneumonia. Sore throat all gone, most green stuff gone, still very hard cough on waking and on full exhale. Infection started about 2 weeks ago.

Hey Ashley, happy you are learning! Just FYI, the video vault has a "pay in 4" option with Klarna or PayPal. It allows you to get started by breaking up the payment into 4 smaller ones. So you can absolutely get started with the vault. www.prepareforems.com Be great, Evan

At 10:38 he says "low blood pressure" when referring to hypertension. Not nitpicking just pointing that out to new students. Hypotension is the medical term for low blood pressure

Dude, I'm in EMT school right now and this cleared up lung sounds for me. We've not really gone into Crackles = CHF/Pneumonia, but rather CHF = crackles. This made it super confusing and difficult to remember what is what and when. I'm just going to note down everything from here as a cheat sheet

Would you all agree the rales sounds more like blowing bubbles in a drink through a straw vs. rhonici sounds more like SCBA sound effects from an 80s movie?

How can we treat epiglottitis and croup on the way to the hospital?
@jb_A6 Жыл бұрын
I have a question, the other day I had a patient who has a history of CHF, and upon lung sounds, there was definitely rales. But the patient was also septic and the medic I was working with treated with our sepsis protocol, which would include a 500 mL fluid bolus. My question is if this pt has a history of CHF, and rales and we dump fluids in them would that put them at risk of fluid overload and potentially cause further harm to the pts heart?

Rales or fluid in lungs 🫁 bilateral rale sounds or unilateral rale sounds...CHF is a strong possibility because of heard rale sounds in both lungs 🫁 Pneumonia comes with fever chills body aches green yellow sputum... unilateral pneumonia is more common... Congestive heart failure has a pink frothy sputum, hypertension, jugular vein distention, and chest pain CPAP is main treatment for CHF

@ 7:37 you said “low blood pressure” but on screen it says HYPERtension not hypo, kinda got confused lol I’m guessing it was meant to be HYPO not HYPER!
