Hi there everyone! I forgot to mention that I DO NOT condone wearing open toed shoes around horses. I realize it is stupid and I have no excuse. its easy and comfortable, but that is not worth a broken foot. These are large and unpredictable animals and we get hurt when we get careless. Just make a note!
Thank you guys so much for watching!😄🎉
Keep up with us!🌹💗

Yes this is a big part of why I subbed to you! So informative & helpful and you make it funny and engaging at the same time. You take us step by step and explain even the most subtle of your and Zo's movements and actions. Like you said, it was crucial to include the rough moments because yeah, especially with horses nooooothing is ever 100% perfect and ya never really gonna learn if you don't work through the hard stuff! Great video Jill :)

I love lunging. I was about to teach my horse how to lunge and he goes off vocal commands. I use the tone in my voice like walk is "waaaaaalk" very calmly said. Trot is "trot trot" and canter is "CANter". Very useful thing to teach your horse this, it's awesome to use under saddle or riding bareback (especially bareback in case of an emergency).

Just a question: Are you lunging your horse with a bridle and a bit? That could very likely seriously hurt the horse when she bucks or tries to run off. Did you ever try lunging with a rope halter?
@JETEquiTheory
@JETEquiTheory 7 жыл бұрын
yes I am, and I ride her in a bit and it doesn't hurt her any worse than when she does it under saddle , also it helps discourage that behavior, but I appreciate the concern!

Do you ever stretch lunge her? So actually like apply an aid for long and low work to engage the core and get her to work over her back and strengthening the topline and muscles beneath the saddle? I don't know if it's like a *thing* as such or if there really is correct terminology for it but yeah, seems like it might be something to look into for Zoe :-)

I phrased that weird but mine are taught to do it without training aids.. by teaching a half halt on the lunge if that makes sense? Probs doesnt but it's kind of hard to explain without seeing it akjsfasdjkf. Lots of love 4 the long and low-Zo

maybe try smaller circles then push her back out onto a larger circle by gently walking toward her in the spot she cuts in. also have a Chiro look at her she may be out in a rib or neck if she can't bend!
