Mate, I know exactly what you mean with the disrespect being shown towards your nation's flag, I used to live in the USA and would stand (albeit not at attention or with a hand over my heart, (I'm not American) ) for the National Anthem and the Stars and Stripes being unfurled/flown. The Stars and Stripes are even , ironically, a symbol of freedom from oppression regarding us Brits. So in fact, the people protesting against oppression by kneeling are disrespecting the symbol of what they want and what gives them the freedom to protest in the first place. There is a time and a place for democratic, rightful, peaceful, protest. During the National Anthem of your country, is not that time. Oh, and Rob, thanks for serving your country, so that your fellow Americans can continue having their freedom of speech and rights, and visitors to your country can enjoy everything it has to offer!

@somebloke8895, you're fucking awesome. The pro players in this country have the right to protest, but do not disrespect the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect that right. Don't fucking take a knee during our fucking national anthem to protest. Head to Somalia to see how that works out. I appreciate your service, I will continue to stand.

If they want to make a statement, that is fine, if they want to protest, go right ahead, but it should not be done, in my view, during a National Anthem. A big statement would have been to not even bother coming out of the dressing room, simply stood around in there until the Anthem is over, then all of them take a knee. It would have been more powerful. I am fully aware of the current issues within the United States' urban areas and the dissatisfaction people are having with the President. I have witnessed the issues first hand, regarding the former of these topics. I just don't think that they should be using the National Anthem as a platform for their political protesting. Would they kneel through another country's anthem? Probably not.

Do you know what it's like having a conservative mindset in New York, arguably the most liberal state in this nation? Most things are very one-sided and the school systems as much as the board of education deny it, is extremely biased to liberals point of view. I have an uncommon trait of thoroughly analyzing both sides of an argument, and I can tell you first hand, these liberals will destroy America from the inside out. This entire subject is distasteful, these NFL stars that society loves calling "heroes" are getting paid anywhere upwards of $15 billion a year to run a ball up and down a field is ridiculous, especially when we cant go a month without having some righteous cunt shoot a cop and rip apart they're families from the inside out. The fact that these "heroes" are playing politics is outrageous, this is also setting them up for failure as well. these so-called heroes are easily replaceable with younger, stronger, and more respectful men who are dying to fill in for these ungrateful pricks. if that flag seriously oppresses these millionaire "heroes" I want them to find another country thats willing to pay them that much to play football.

The flags are a symbol of what there country has fought for from early times of our ancestors to the people of today . If I seen someone standing on or burning or even letting a flag fall to the ground ,me I would lose my mind on them ,and tear there neck off there shoulders . I am a ex service man . LunkersTV seeing your passion resounds in me Rob, because I feel the same. I am just a regular guy that loves hunting and fishing, and have never been in the forces of any kind. Patriotism and respect for your country & flag is something that is dying the world over it seems. Here in Australia all they want to do is change the flag because of our history and what happened to the Aborigines and so on, but it is that history that everyone should respect, as it is our past that got us to today, and the freedom we experience. If you don’t like it, don’t focus on it, spend your time thinking of the future, not that we should change our history! Rambling a little, but I got a tear or 2 in my eye listening to you and felt I needed to write something. 👍🏽😎👌🏽🇦🇺. We have the right in the USA to speak out about the things we don't like. We have the right to dislike what our government does and we have ways to work on changing our government, But not by dishonoring our flag or our Country the two very things that gives us those rights! We need to stand together as one Nation before we loose what we fought so hard to get. Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all!

There is no "correct" way to peacefully protest. Your argument on how a free individual should protest is completely one sided. Half of my family has served in the military. Two of them have died wearing that flag. While I completely sympathize with your loss and understand your point of view, the problem is you have no idea what it is like on the other side. My great grandfather was lynched under a 45 star flag in a country that frequently overlooked great injustices toward African Americans on a daily basis. The only thing he felt before he died was that he didn't belong under that flag because he didn't fit in with the majority. I couldn't imagine the pain someone must feel battling the same injustices in the year 2017 under a 50 star flag. As a free citizen, it is not an individuals responsibility to respect a flag. Any flag is merely a symbol of what an individual believes it stands for. As the President of the United States however, it is Donald Trump's responsibility to respect and uphold the basic right to protest anything in a peaceful manner without threat of retaliation. No individual should have to choose if he/she should protest peacefully or not while the leader of the free world obnoxiously jesters while screaming "you're fired!" into a microphone on the biggest stage int he world.

If you believe in the foundations of our country, that “we hold these truths to be self evident”, then we don’t need a flag to represent our freedoms and liberties. We should celebrate and honor the flag because it is our symbol of the unity and righteousness of “freedom”, but in my opinion, we would not be America if we were not allowed to kneel or sit. We. Are. Free. And while that flag is so very important, and should be treated as such, the concept and “tangibility” of our freedoms and liberties tops it.

Man you hit the nail on the head with the flag. Its not about political preference or anything, the flag is so much more than just a political symbol and shouldn't be a dividing factor. There's a ton of better ways to protest and change things rather than disrespect the thing that should unite not divide the population. PA that is also a pistol. PA really is a good state if you enjoy firearms, open carry with anything besides in Philly, easy to get concealed carry, no wait period, etc. Little weird with age, 18 is fine for a rifle and shotgun, 21 for handgun/pistol. We just have to do all firearm transfers through a gun store or sheriffs office. Not sure how private sales work in Texas with gun shows and what not. It does help stop firearm fear mongering a little though so that's a plus. Even in large cities it's not an issue. Plus the deer out here is great. Few public ranges not far from the App Trail. I like being in the city but still able to be in the middle of nowhere in 30min.

I think that people have misunderstood why you should stand for your countries flag, it's not because you should believe that your country is the greatest or has never done something wrong ( mine started ww2 for example) but it's about the people / soldiers who were willing to suffer more so their countrymen wouldn't have too. Everyone who uses the flag for his/her political agenda (for example by kneeling) is just disrespecting those who suffered fought or even died to protect others then themselves.

KZbinr's should make a class action lawsuit against KZbin because KZbin might be demonetizing hosts to secretly up their profit margins while blaming their algorithm bot and all they have to say "It wasn't us"

the issue is the people kneeling for the oppression issue knows it stings you and many others and they think they are gonna get you to surrender so to speak and listen to there issues. but reality is there just making everyone angry and don't care about there oppression at the time being. they need to find different ways to go about it I agree

I didn't fight in any war. Many many many friends have died. Have a cousin was a tank commander. Kneeling during the nationlal anthem and doing what they do is so disrespectful to you guys that fought for our rigjt to do what we do. I agree and it does make me mad.

I'll never understand why people don't stand for the national anthem I had a broken hip and arm still stood up in my wheelchair. It's not about what you're going threw it's what people have done for our rights.

Funny you mentioned text grabber. He lived in the same town I grew up in. Good ole small village of washburn Illinois. He hated us, we would yell oh I just fucking shot myself at him and then he would demand our respect. Good times.
