People don't realize hunting is much more moral than getting food from commercial farms where cows are packed into a feedlot
@danielrose60937 жыл бұрын
You are so correct Jared.. I would be willing to bet that 1 in 5 Americans would either stop eating meat or at least have serious issues with eating meat if they saw how the animals are killed by processing companies. Hunting is just taking out the middle man ( the processing company ) and the end result is the same... food on your table.

Where did you get the tag for people? Never squat or drop down when you see deer, even if caught in the open. Just hold still, try and tilt your head down to hide your eyes. Slightest of movement, really slow if absolutely needed. Squating down puts you in a bad bow shooting position especially in brush.

Hey Rob, as an experienced deer hunter, I. have a few tips. Sit in your stand right until dark. Till you can't possibly shoot (Legally or if you can't see your pins). I don't know if its sunset where you can't shoot or 30 mins after like here in Maine. Bring a pee bottle lol not joking! When you walk out, walk as slowly as possible. Take 5 or 6 slow step and stop and look around. Look for a flash of movement. Be ready. Avoid stepping on sticks or logs at all costs! Be as still as possible in your stand. Most of all, enjoy your time in the woods! Hunting is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. Good luck!

Its awesome to see you bow hunting! you got down too early though, usually stay in the stand until after shooting light then walk out in the dark. keep the videos coming out though man
@ericchang38207 жыл бұрын
Outlaw Media You got that right! For me when Early morning hunting I get it before first light and on top of that i at least give it a good 20 to 30 mins to let everything Settled back down to Normal routine! Same with evening's but I don't get down until I can't see at all. Reason so even if it's pass shooting hours I don't want to spook any deer that might still be around, and when lunkers got down, it was actually the perfect time when those deer are moving weather they are going to their beds or if still nocturnal they are up and moving!
@choppertcp10457 жыл бұрын

A few things. Always have a piss bottle with you. Get some gloves to cover your hands up and something to cover your face/neck up. Move as little as possible when your in the stand and make as little noise as possible. Remember, we are not a common occurrence in the woods, it's unnatural. You have to blend in as much as much possible and not spook any animals, have to worry about more than just deer. One animal alerts to something being off, they all are on alert. You got down way to early, don't come down until it's can't see anymore dark out. Get a red lens flashlight or hand lamp if you need some light to help you get out at night. Every time you go you will learn and get better. Good luck

Rob When deer hunting don't move any part of your body fast. the deer will spot that and be spooked. Also the first afternoon you left way to early. You should enter before day break and leave after night fall. The best time to leave in the middle of the day is about 9:30- 10:30 otherwise you will spook roaming doe's and small spike's. The 180 score I had was 25 minutes until night fall.

Not trying to be Mr know it all but here is a few tips. When your in the stand you want you minimize all your movement. One thing I do is I never leave the stand until the legal shooting time. Now I know your getting into the sport and that's great glad you are. It's something I love doing. All day in the woods just listening. Good luck in your hunts and stay safe, don't fall out of the treestand

Hey Rob, stay in your stand until dark. Most places you can shoot until 30 minutes after sunset. Also spin your arrow so the cock vane (the odd colored one) is pointing up. You can do this by spinning the nock. They are not glued in so they spin pretty easy. This will help with accuracy. Also when you grunt don't blow so long. You want like 1/2-1 second grunts. Goodluck! hope you shot a big one!

@losethealtitude77307 жыл бұрын
Rob don't worry about making noise when you're walking to and from the stand. You're going to make noise regardless. Just get quiet when you get up in the stand and let things settle down and get quiet again. Not tryna tell you what to do. Just a suggestion.

@thereeloutdoors34157 жыл бұрын
Ok Rob I know you are going to see plenty of these comments but I want to give you a few tips from my bow hunting knowledge... the fact that you saw those deer at last light was not a coincidence but last light is the far best time to hunt and getting down early is not a good idea... rule of thumb stay until you cannot see the pin on your bow glowing... and keep an empty Gatorade bottle in your pack incase nature calls while in the stand this will keep your business quite lol... I am not commenting to knock on your skills or be rude but I would like to see you succeed and find a new passion for bowhunting! Good Luck and stay with it!

Welcome to deer hunting Rob. This won't be the last time this sort of thing happens on stand(the dog, and the buck you sort of jumped on the way out). Trust me on that one. Something like this happens to me at least once every season. Whether it's a dog, or a hunter trespassing on land they shouldn't be on which leads into me getting into a shouting match from the stand and ending my hunt in the process lol. Just the way it goes. It gets worse when the rifles start going off. Getting ready to hunt tomorrow. Excited for it. Nice cold weather up in the north east FINALLY, and it's the first full moon of November, and that's pretty much the best day to be out there in terms of the rut. In my experience anyway. I've only been out a few times. Could've shot a doe on two occasions but passed both times. Not time to worry about filling doe tags yet.
