Kangaroos are great, very independent and can survive easily on there own. We have 3 reds and 1 Gray that we hand raised from babies after there mothers were killed by trucks. They have now joined the local population in the area, but they still drop in for some pats and treats. And to show off their new babies each year.

Ian Temby, who spent 33 years with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, said kangaroo attacks are rare, but could be fatal in some circumstances. "If you're standing up, the kangaroo can kick you with its hind feet and that can pretty much rip you open," he said. "That's extremely dangerous." You do not want to get kicked by kangaroo you don't stand much of a chance in a toe-to-toe standoff with a rampaging kangaroo, which can swipe at you with clawed hands or deliver powerful kicks to your abdomen while supporting itself on its tail. A kangaroo's foot claws are sharp enough to slice open a human abdomen.
