there is a key lock on it that you can see on the handle. It should also have a electronic lock on it. On our ambulances, when we press the lock button on the remote, it locks all the exterior doors and cabinets.

Bad idea for anyone that were to think of trying, with Rob on the inside, and a pass through door. Other than that, this thing probably won't be parked more than 10 minutes where people are, without Rob in sight, or inside of it.

Lighting is key Rob. Lights up top to light the perimeter, also you gotta see in front of you in tough conditions. So maybe add some bright LED cubes or light bars with some amber lights for those dusty and foggy situations

One thing that I want to do when I build mine is to run a gutter system around it that lets me collect the rainfall and bring it gravity fed through a filter into the cabin. Either for a shower or to be filtered again for drinking. I think it'll be important to have a backup water source especially out west

I'd change the gun cabinet around so that they are only accessed from inside, put in an internal panel and move the hot water/shower unit into the front inside of the cabinet. You could set up an external shower screen quite easily hanging off the outside wall. Definitely needs some light bars up top and on the front bar to bling it up. And some sweet rear work lights.

They're so top heavy that even with 4wd you don't want to go feom pavement to a dirt road as the fear of the truck rolling over onto its side sucks.

Those lil refrigerators with the freezer inside suck the one that are separate freezer & fridge, they look like a regular fridge but mini sized..... I'd think adding some outside cameras, light bars and a push button awning would be handy.... also make sure the the gun cabinet is extra secure from the outside, like perhaps outting a steel bar across it that can lock... oh and always have an extra release and parts the guns/bows with you.

Drew, you may know by now, but if you don't, you have to turn the key on and wait until the little light in the dash goes off before starting the engine. It has glowplugs that have to heat up before the engine will start. If you don't let the glowplugs heat up the engine will just turn over and over until they heat up enough to fire the engine.

She'll turn out great, mount some Baja's to light up the night, and a couple pvc pipes up top for fishing poles, maybe an awning. Could even get mounts on the side for detachable, prep table, cutting board, and extension port quick disconnect collapsible sink. Definitely going to have to figure out a more slick plan for the shower, but she's turned out good so far. These things are a work in progress, so it'll just get better and better, the more you have fun with it! Take er easy sniper!

If your APU heater is anything like the ones I ran in my big rig sleeper bunk you're going to love it in the cold. It kept me nice and warm even up in northern Montana during a cold snap. It was -27° outside one morning when I woke up and it was 67° inside my truck right where I set the thermostat! It was also very fuel efficient which was nice. Seeing some of this took me back to my OTR days. I wasn't able to make a long carrier with it due to health issues, but I look back fondly on my time. So many stories and lessons learned on the road! A song I heard one day on a Pandora created playlist was "Rodeo Moon" by the late Chris LeDoux. The chorus stood out to me and the song quickly became a favorite of mine. "Now our windshield's a painting that hangs in our room. It changes each mile like the radio tune. With God up above we'll make it on love. Under the rodeo moon."

Instead of a window, have have a load of mini cctv cameras around the van of a big screen, much better than just a window. Also network signal boosters be a must, major spotlights, outside power ports for when camp is set up. So when your on top of the roof, fancy computerised spotlight monitoring system, ir system, lol man you could go all out, also a compressor, as lowing air tyre pressure will be going on, So you'll need pump up as well as down. You need a ny tips watch 4WD 24/7 group of oz's lads , but strapping your daughter on top of a gas bottle isn't the wisest idea of yours rob lol....

I would suggest adding a warn16.5 winch to the front and mounting the 12k on a hitch which gives you the option of front or back depending on the situation; def include snatch block and related gear for recovery like a kinetic rope. Maybe a telescope / spotting scope mount on top of vehicle, lighting. I would also suggest magnets and utilizing magnetic items that can easily be relocated around the rig and keep tons of Velcro on hand (trust me, you will need it and I wish someone told me in beginning). Washing machine not needed but having a small dryer is convenient to have for multiple reasons and situations …. Sorry, just trying to throw out all the things I wish I knew up front.

Our little girl is finally here one week old today and i am ready to start building the camper on the back of our truck i will have to remember to make some seats with belts to strap car seats in. I had not thought about it until seen your video. Mine is a Silverado 1500 LTZ bed removed stronger suspension. We are building a camper for the back but i wish i could make it removable not permanent thats all thats held me up may go with a lightweight metal frame that I can bolt on and off of the frame of my truck

The top part of the gun cabinet opposite of the barrels would be a perfect spot to mount the shower system maybe see if they can somehow recess mount a tv where it was with a door of sorts so you don’t loose headroom when sitting at the table or god forbid it come down accidentally when the baby is sitting on that side

LPG Tanks should never be inside closed spaces brother. Safety cut offs or not it’s very dangerous. Especially with that baby girl inside. Valves can leak brand new. Too much rushing in the install process with them. Move it outside somewhere PLEASE. Don’t risk it man. Yeah it’s 1in a million maybe. But your military, you know how average statistics workout.
