My man said life ain't easy. When niggas gotta eat That's when shit gets greasy Gotta Eat is still my favorite song by Lupe That song is about the unhealthy lifestyle promoted in the fast food industry as well as the problematic lifestyle of being a drug dealer. Third layer is the fact that both have so much in common that they can use the same word play interchangeably and still make sense on all fronts because of the very nature of selling products that kill its consumers.

In a world where Aesop Rock exists? Lmaoooo. Nah.
@Portthefirst
@Portthefirst 4 жыл бұрын
ShutYoMouth why lmao? You could argue about that day and night. Lupe's poem "MYH saga" is maybe the best story ever told in rap history. His lyrics range from heavy metaphors, wordplays/homophones (which Aesop is average), punchlines, entendres (which Aesop sucks), similes, foreshadowing, allegories, juxtapositions to paralellism, irony, imagery, symbolism. Aesop has yet to make a song more lyrically superior than Mural or Failure. Don't take Lupe's words for granted just cause he said that MF DOOM and Aesop are better lyricists and that he is a C+ level lyricist.
@MikeJohnson-lt1il
@MikeJohnson-lt1il 4 жыл бұрын
@@Portthefirst Have you ever listened to Labor Days, Skeleton, and Impossible Kid? He is lyrically superior to Lupe Fiasco. I studied both of them and Aseop Rock used a lot of literary devices and multilayered lyricism.
@Portthefirst
@Portthefirst 4 жыл бұрын
Mike Johnson I wouldn't say lyrically superior. Mean and Vicious which isn't even Lupe's most lyrical song contains about 12 literary devices, let alone Mural, Dumb it down, Failure, Mazinger, What it do (circular logic applied here), and a lot others. MYH saga contains almost every literary device there is. It's not lyricaly superior, it's just that you prefer more Aesop Rock. He ain't a better writer than Lupe. Lupe ain't a better writer than Aesop. Different type of lyricists, using big words or having a larger vocabulary = not better. If we go by that, then K Rino is the best lyricist there ever existed.
@MikeJohnson-lt1il
@MikeJohnson-lt1il 4 жыл бұрын
@@Portthefirst K-Rino I forgot to mention him underrated Houston legend. I still think Aseop Rock is better having the biggest vocabulary doesn't mean nothing to me. He is a brilliant conceptual artist. I think Lupe is a better rapper but not a better lyricist than Aseop Rock. I like Lupe's music a lot more but I respect Aseop Rock's pen game. By the way The Stories from the black book by K-Rino is some of the best lyrical albums ever made.

Dinosaurs used to warm up the homes and power up the cars. Think of the radio. Think of how music acts as the soundtrack for your thanksgiving/Christmas holiday or sets the tone for your workday on your morning commute

Was this recorded before or after The Joe Budden Podcast episode? Because he called Lupe and just like Myke said it's about rappers but also a multilayered song. I thought Feefo would bring it up since he goes first and Joe is his favorite in Slaughterhouse.

Whoa, whoa, whoa now I get the point but I don't know about that one. lol. I would think for that to work, the rapper would have to rap in different time signatures, spit words that don't even rhyme and don't fit until they fit.
