Almond and coconut flour reign supreme in the keto culinary universe, but there's another contender making its presence felt in the low-carb solar system: lupin flour! I made my first version of lupin bread with almond flour this week, and I was not disappointed, nor was my picky son.
Diva Tip: Lupin flour does need a complimentary flour to work well (e.g., coconut or almond flour).
I would use this bread for sandwiches, french toast, toasted with butter, or even cube the end pieces to bake keto croutons!

Please share your experience with lupin flour and your favorite recipes below. I love to hear of the creative ways my Divas use different ingredients to make keto masterpieces.

Macros per slice (10 slices): Cals: 128 | Fat: 11g | Carbs: 4g | Fiber: 3g | Protein: 4g
Ingredients:
1 cup, Blanched Almond Flour
30 g (1/4 cup), Lupin Flour
1 tbsp(s), Baking powder
3 large, Egg
4 tbsp, Heavy Cream
3 teaspoon, Oat Fiber (Not Oats)
2 tsp(s), Xanthan Gum
2 tsp(s), Apple Cider Vinegar
0.25 cup, Butter
0.50 tsp, Salt

I am so excited that I came across this today. Thankful that you "don't" add vital wheat gluten as others do. I just need to pick up some cream...I am soooo on this !!! THANK YOU! (I am using the Lupin flour to make a sourdough starter...It is fermenting very well!!!)

@ Cheryl Temple I know this is over a year ago but just wondering how your lupin flour sourdough starter worked? I've got some fermenting right now as well but can't find a recipe that doesn't use Vital wheat gluten as well. Thanks

Thanks for this, love using lupin more since nuts are so calorie dense. Genius tip about cutting length wise! I also break out the electric knife sometimes when wanting thin slices.

Half and half is not the same as heavy cream and is higher in carbs... Good slicing tip. I use lupin flour often but it has a bitter taste if used alone.

Heavy cream and half & half are definitely different, and I would always opt for heavy cream because of the lower carbs. Lupin flour seems to work better, in general, when blended with other low-carb options (e.g., almond flour, coconut flour, etc.).

Hi lovely. How was it? That bread looks delicious. I get so afraid to try bread recipes as it is only me who does keto at home. I like a little sweetness to my bread how much do you suggest I add if i try this? Have you tried toasting it? Let me know if you make grilled cheese and how it turns out.

Hi sweetie! I would say add a packet or two of stevia to add a touch of sweetness. The bread was great , and I made a grilled cheese with it last night; it was DELICIOUS! The texture is fantastic, like typical bread. Also, I lightly toasted the bread when I made the sandwich shown in the video and it held up great.

The written recipe doesn’t list the yeast. Have you tried it without the yeast and had good results? Thanks for this.

Looks like a great recipe but why would you add yeast if you are not going to let it rise for at least sometime?

The yeast is probably added to give the loaf more of a bread taste. It does work in a diff recipe I use for rolls.

Thanks so much for the video! I recently attempted Keto bread loaf with protein powder and eggs. It was very eggy tasting and salty. Can sweetener be added to this recipe or is it a bit sweet already? Also where did you purchase your products?

Hey, Gia, and thanks for stopping by to spend some time with us! I tried making a bread loaf with egg powder recently and it was a DISASTER; it almost looked green on the inside, so weird. You could add a packet of stevia or something to the bread if you like. The taste of the bread is neutral and great for sandwiches, but if you're making it to then make french toast or bread pudding, you could definitely add sweetener, like a 1/2 cup or to taste. I ordered the flour on Amazon, see: amzn.to/2VNzGx7 | I think the exact brand of lupin I used is sold out, but the version linked above has great reviews, too.

I think it'll be OK without the ACV, but the original recipe called for it so I added it. :)
