my aunt was diagnosed with lupus survived years afterwards but it ultimately destroyed her kidneys leading to dialysis, amputation of a leg and lastly death....there are more extremes included with her lupus but all spawns from the disease and it was a terrible thing to watch a loved one leave this world that way..very painful . this disease is a killer . but i beleive it is survivable as long as you take care of your body in the upmost pefection . even better than that of an healthy person.....

My aunt passed away in February due to lupus as well. She also had to do dialysis because this disease damaged both the kidneys. Not only did it affect the kidneys but also her lungs got infected and also her intestines caught infection which made her have a major operation. The thing is she was never diagnosed with lupus until those days when they did an autopsy on her. She passed after having the final complication which was a cardiac arrest. I miss her so much :( This disease is worse than Cancer or HIV.. and I really hope there is a cure fore this disease soon, alongside Cancer and HIV as well

Im sorry for your loss... man thats crazy... How come she was not diagnosed until it started to affect other organs in her body? I know its tough.. but the way I think about it now is that my aunt is now no longer in pain. She has all her limbs, she can breathe, walk and smile with no pain. Got diagnosed before my 20th birthday last year, living with lupus isn’t bad but it’s also annoying asf. much worse than an eye lash.. I get lashes in my eye often. I just stick my finger in there and get it out. Lupus, however is a beast. And it effects different people in different ways.
