I’ve used the Black Hornets 3 deer seasons & they have performed flawlessly. I’ve harvested 8 deer with them & all have expired within 40yds. The blood-trail’s were phenomenal but not needed when you see the deer topple over in sight. They are easy to get back to hair shaving sharp. I have blunted the tips of 2 heads after pass-throughs & hitting something hard. I’m sure I could have used Magnus’s top tier warranty but I just purchased another pack. I will continue to have the Black Hornets on the end of my arrows. 🦌🦌

The 125 Ser Razor has been the only broadhead I use for nearly 7 years now. Years prior I wasted a lot of time and money searching for "the one". My frustration ended when I got my hands on these nasty little buggers. The 2 main reasons the Ser Razor has been my one and only for 7 years is #1 I always get a pass through, quartering to, away, broadside, doesn't matter, goes right through. And #2, 100% animal recovery so far. There are many other reasons the Ser Razor is my #1.

I shoot an Excalibur 340 crossbow for deer hunting..average deer 120-150#. My maximum distance for me to feel comfortable, is 30 yds. I saw your video on Stinger vs Black Hornet. You mentioned Stinger better for lower poundage bows, which the 340 probably is (also shoot Mission Sub1 Lite). I don’t know if my bows are considered low poundage compared to your vertical bow. Also would the Stinger tend to plane more due to bigger surface than Black Hornet? I’m looking at 125 gr head. Which do you recommend for my set up? Thanks
@LuskArcheryAdventures9 ай бұрын
Good question. I'm going to start using a crossbow in my flight testing in 2024. Working on that now. All other things equal, the more surface area, the more broadheads are prone to plane...but there are an almost infinite number of other factors. If I were strictly crossbow hunting, I'd probably use a mech most of the time, like a Sevr Robusto. If I did use a fixed blade, I'd have to test the flight out of my crossbow and my bolts in order to make sure.

What I love about these is how they fly. Indistinguishable from my field points out to 80 yards. I also had a pass through on a doe last year that cut a rib in half on both sides of the deer. I do wish the blades were a bit tougher, as the serated tips take a lot of damage, but the warranty makes up for that. Are they the BEST head? No, but they might just be the best for the money. For deer...I see no reason to buy anything more expensive, though I'd pick up something with better steel if I drew an elk tag.

For whitetails only in the east. Which would you recommend the black hornet or the qad exodus ?
@slimjimmy229 Жыл бұрын
Black Hornets is what I use here in KY. In my experience, they produce a more consistent blood trail than any 3 blade I've ever used. I've killed 7 deer with the Black Hornet. All of the blood trails have been short, easily followed, and 5 of the deer have fallen within sight. 1 broadhead was responsible for 6 of those 7 deer. I hit the scapula, went most of the way through the spine, and stopped after the tip broke through the off side scapula. The broadhead survived just fine until the 180lb buck fell on the shaft, breaking the ferrule just above the threads.
