I have been a supporter since 69-70 and been through thick and thin as a supporter. We attracted more fans during the resurgence although unfortunately some of them are unsocial-media generation who want instant gratification. Kudos to all supporters (as opposed to fans) and frustration expressed at the KZbin football managers.

Spot on in your assessment lads. 2 years ago Rob and the team would've been praised for digging out a win.

I’m prepared to travel from Yorkshire every other weekend to watch Luton play at power court. And I don’t think I’m alone in that. Power Court is going to transform the club and the town. 🎉🧡⚽️🎩

Derby were solid at the back, and after going 1-0 it was hard to see how we would break them down. But when Sonny Bradley came off and Edwards started chucking subs on, I could see a glimpse of hope. At 1-1, I thought great, a well-earned point at the death, but no, the boys kept going and forced a second. Great scenes at the end of the game... much needed win. Feels more like Luton of old, scrappy game but fighting till the final whistle to get a result.

Good video we are only four points behind what we had when we finished third after 22 games.

It wasn't Tom Holmes's first goal for Luton, James. He scored for us with a lovely diving header in 2022 although he was playing for Reading at the time 😁

Lockyer still has a part to play in the future of the club. Even if he is limited as his role as a first team player going forward, I could see him taking up a role in management in time. Great news about Power Court, the Town Centre needs the investment, and all the businesses that will pop up around it will give the Town a boost on the back of the bad news about Vauxhall plant closure. Although the latter, might not be completely done deal. If the government can get around the table with owners, I doubt they will be able to stop production moving to Ellesmere, but they may limit the damage, with fewer job losses and/ or push back the date it happens.

Hope you both have a cracking Christmas lads! Not much more to add, other than thank goodness for that late showing on Friday. Sure it was a subpar performance, but isn’t grinding out results when you play badly supposed to be the sign of a good team? Something like that anyway!

In the circumstances Erik Pieters is a good signing for Town : wherever he's played Pieters has developed a positive rapport with the clubs fans due to his committed performances! !. Unless we have someone else signed in Jan25 and providing he's doing the business in training and in games over Xmas if he plays,wiith our injury record it might be sensible to sign him until May25 ?

Know you guys love stats. We root has been on the pitch for 7 games - if we ignore Burnley in the other 6 games he’s played on we’ve got 4 wins and 2 draws. They’ve only been cameo’s but you’ve got to wonder why he doesn’t get on the pitch more.

Here and Now! - I think it's fabulous about the news of Power Court, and that we got three points.... However the word overstatement could be subjectively said as can the overbearing statement on just one win, suggesting that we are out of the woods, and let's have a party. Realism should be more proactively used... The promises of change are just weak branches on the tree of hope, that Rob Edwards waters on a constant basis, which you both flaunt your admiration for him on a regular basis where I believe the majority of others fans know & think differently regarding him as the person to take the club forward ! Obviously we all look forward to being catapulted up the table, but as we all well know the Championship is an unforgiving league, and a few disastrous results can see any team go down the table faster than you can say New Year. However hopefully for the Town this isn't the case and we build on this performance, but I'm not holding onto any reserves for that. Let's face it, we got lucky against Derby, first off they were the better team for the majority of the game, that's a fact! I commented previously about how informed I think your podcast is, but there is an underlying factor that keeps getting brushed under the carpet. Our embarrassing goal difference tells our story of this forgettable season, it also demonstrates that there are tougher days & weeks ahead... We are constantly laying the ground work on a regular basis that projects us well for the away games ahead, but then all hell breaks loose, and what once looked positive turns again into another negative away performances and all foundations of hope are dashed. Until the away form starts to magnificently improve, then I won't be getting overly excited off just one solitary win! Merry Christmas... 🎉😊

is it really a fact Derby were better? Just seemed like a poor game to me. As for looking for green shoots. Imagine having hindsight? You'll look back and at some point say that was the game that changed things for the better. That is a fact. Whether it turns out to be Derby or next season or somewhere in between, time will tell. Kev and especially James, are hoping it's Derby. Nothing wrong with that.
@lutontownsupporterstrust3 күн бұрын
We haven't suggested we're out of the woods. We're merely saying we are allowed to be happy at a last-gasp victory despite not playing well. We did get lucky but that's OK. We'll have to agree to disagree that Derby were the better team. Both teams contributed to a drab spectacle. Regards Rob, we have stated an opinion, based on the available evidence, that it doesn't appear he is going anywhere, despite fans' differing views. If that's flaunting admiration then, again, we'll have to agree to disagree.

The fight back was clearly inspired by that banger from Pelly(yes it had a deflection!) and again the Town rode their luck. Not happy what Edwards said post match about the '10,000 fans' - a very cheap dig at those who can see what the issues are from a Manager out of ideas and too stubborn to change. Merry Christmas to you both and I am not going to get too excited about another stale home performance with lady luck beaming down again. Excellent news on the stadium, after decades and decades of trying. COYH

Bristol City match MOM was JJ for me and that alone has pissed me off as Rob been telling us we had no left backs hence going 3 at the back with wing backs. Thats bullshit as when Hashi was fit JJ was warming the bench. What is it with Rob back three formation? I know when we have out long terms coming back it should get better but it might be too late by then like last year. We had no penetration up front. and the only missing person in a forward line is Baptiste. When we over turn the ball who we have up front to hit. Not chong or moses as they are back with the defenders. This is getting a joke Chong should be up top for turnover ball. Why cant Robs back room staff see this too as we all know Rob cant???

Why did Edwards feel the need to be sarcy about Luton’s fans expressing an opinion? Particularly after his success in sucking the confidence out of our players this season? Edwards’ obstinate refusal to play Pelly just showed him up and he hardly acknowledged Pelly at the end of the game for making the difference to gain us three points. On the basis of our consistent performances this season, I’m going for a 3-1 defeat at Ashton Gate. Finally merry Christmas to you guys and thank you for your thoughts during the year …always professional and well thought through.

There's a video in this episode of him hugging Pelly, like he hugged everyone.
@SoulfulHatter3 күн бұрын
@ I would suggest a brief acknowledgment and certainly no words of congratulation for turning the game around. He could hardly ignore him. Of course one can look too deeply at these things. But what is without doubt is the lack of game time Pelly has been given at a time when we’ve desperately needed his energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the cause. Pelly’s introduction lifted the crowd and showed what he can achieve in just a few minutes …given the chance.

Tbh it's very naïve to think that people will suddenly leave their cars at home and catch the train or bus to Power Court. Relatively few fans will live anywhere near a train line that goes to Luton and many people have never caught a bus in their lives and of course much of the fan base lives well outside Luton and would need to catch two or more buses to get into the centre of Luton.
@burleigh6043 күн бұрын
So it's no difference now then. They take 2 buses and continue to take 2 buses. People will continue to drive but to take the train is easier if you outside luton
@welcome2mytruth3 күн бұрын
Personally, I am planning to move back to the area once the new stadium has been built, so I can see out the rest of my days watching Luton. It's been all but impossible to get tickets due to the changes made for the PL season and I have been attending games on and off since the late 80s and battling to get an ID card(remember those?!). So if I need to grab a bus, or 2, I can't see it being an issue.
@lutontownsupporterstrust3 күн бұрын
It's not naive. That is a major factor behind the location of the stadium and one of the reasons it has been approved. Will people still drive? Yes. Will some use trains? Yes. We're just not into arguing about traffic volumes for approximately one afternoon every 2 weeks, if that is even a factor, versus all the other benefits.

I would not be too hard on Chong. The ball travelled s long way into the box, and whoever was right sided centre half should have been helping him.

You speculate that Luton could sign 5 players in the January window.That being the case it begs the question who will be allowed to leave.As you know we are restricted to a squad size of 25.Will Pelly be allowed to leave after what happened against Derby?.Likewise Woodrow?.Obviously Peiters should leave.Surely we wont sign new players unless they can be registered to play.I hope we do the right thing.

@lutontownsupporterstrust3 күн бұрын
In what way have we missed this? That's your view, you are entitled to it. We have given our views in previous episodes, but in this one we talk about how the available evidence is that he's not going anywhere, so we're just dealing with the reality. Also, we won a game. We are allowed to be happy with that, regardless of the circumstances around it.
