Perfect video, thank you! Installed 5 of these around the house. It’s nice how the lights slowly fade off instead of instant on and off, gives it a more luxury feel.

Got the dimmer and location 2 switch installed, but location 2 turn turns off the dimmer switch. They both turn the desired light on and off, but the dimmer will only work if the other switch is in the on position. Location 2 switch also has a 1 second delay. Any ideas?
@Lutron-Electronics2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Cat! We believe that installing a jumper wire in your second location will get rid of the delay you're experiencing. If this is the case, follow the steps starting at 2:45 in this video. If you are still experiencing this issue, our 24/7 Technical Support team can assist. You can reach them at 1-844-588-7661 or support@lutron.com.

You keep showing two black wires, but my setup has a black and a white, along with the red and ground.

no one is showing what happens when you leave the dimmer turn down and turn it off and on from the other switch.... does it stay at that light level or does it go to full brightness?

The light will stay at the last level of brightness! same as ALL dimmer that I ever come across!

After installing the 3-way dimmer switch, I found that the light only worked when the switches were in 1 particular orientation. In other words, when switch 1 was in the "down" position and the light was off, flicking switch 2 had no effect on the light at all. Upon closer inspection, I found that on switch 1, power was only getting to one of the traveler wires. I switched the traveler wires around and still had the same problem, so the power was not going from the common terminal to one of the traveler terminals. I switched the 3-way dimmer switch for another, and had the same problem. Seems like I need to get another new switch? Also, the dimmer function does not work at all, despite my LED bulbs saying they are dimmable, and the Lutron switch indicating that it is compatible with LED bulbs. Not too sure what's the problem there.

Having the exact same issue. 3 days, 1 blown dimmer (had to replace with a new one for $34), and about 9+ hours deep. Anyone from Lutron able to suggest any fix?
@maxvo12272 жыл бұрын
There is a chance that you have wired the switch incorrectly. Make sure that you connect the "COM, or Common" wire from your existing 3-way switch to the black wire in your new dimmer. During my install, the COM wire was the black wire located in the bottom left of my existing switch. Good luck.

I have the same exact lighting situation, they are my kitchen can lights (5) then I have one over my sink (1). One light switch in the hallway to turn them all on and off. Another light switch to the same lights right by my kitchen sink that turns them on and off. I just bought the same light switch with the dimmer. My goal is too be able to turn my kitchen lights off and have the light over the sink on or off with this kind of light switch. Will this work? I thought it was but then I got to thinking maybe it won't

I bought a lite on dimmer, and I have three wires coming out of the wall: 1- black wire 2- white wire 3- red wire In the back of the dimmer, I have 3 wires, red, red with white stripe and black Which one goes with which, also this is a three way installation

Hoe do you install Lurton Sunnata dimmer in a 4 way application with existing switch? If you follow the 3 way application video, do you have to make changes to 4 way switch? Do you have video on this?

Is it possible to replace all 3 switches in a 3 way with dimmer switches?
@Ping7272 жыл бұрын
I believe this requires smart switches that can communicate with each other. I wish the Sunnata style was available with smart switches. Caseta is and there's also Zooz or Inovelli

The Sunnata that I just bought has 4 wires, while my old dimmer only has 3 wires (no red). What do I do about that?
@Lutron-Electronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, The STCL-153P uses 4 wires for potential 3-way applications. If this installation is for single pole, Lutron recommends following this wiring diagram: www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/368-4493_Page_79.pdf If this installation is for a 3-way, Lutron suggests following this wiring diagram: www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/368-4493_Page_13.pdf Hope this helps!

Can you wire the regular switch first?

Hello Pablo, Yes, the regular mechanical switch can be re-wired first. The order in which the devices are wired will not matter. Thanks

Great video it finally solved my problem but I gotta be honest this is one stupid way to have to wire a 3 way
@homer26452 жыл бұрын
I am a licensed electrician. And this wiring design makes no sense. The everyday electrical layman will not "get this". Why not just keep the regular setup of a black and red wire for single pole installation and leave an extra whatever color wire for optional 3-way setup. You're just drumming up a lot of business for electricians with this setup. And a lot of complaints from rookie DIY'ers.....
@Lutron-Electronics2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback, Constantine! We would recommend using the accessory switch with Sunnata to avoid having to use the included yellow jumper wire. However, if you want to keep the switch in the other location, the included wire needs to be used to help the digital dimmer work with an analog switch. If you want to talk through your specific application, our US-based tech support is here 24/7 at 844-LUTRON1.
