I loved how the Korean woman translated everything to their partner instead of keeping them out of the loop; so that they would be included and keep up with in the conversation too.

Being a Bi-man, I’ve had experiences with various ‘Top’ and ‘Bottom’ dynamics. What always annoyed me was that people in heteronormative relationships would tell me derogatory jokes about being a ‘bottom’ as a man, where they automatically assume you’re going to take that submissive role because of said position. Being submissive and a bottom doesn’t have a correlation in sex. You can still be dominant while being a bottom, and it’s something straight people don’t realise soon enough. This becomes quite hurtful when people make it a norm to associate you with being ‘emotional’ , ‘fragile’ and ‘girly’ just because of your sexual position during sex.

I am not gay, but my son is BI. But even before we knew this, he is 28, known since he was 14. I have and have many gay friends. I have always though it is no one's a GOD DAMN business if you are a top /bottom or both. You wouldn't ask a straigh person. " hmm, can we ask are you missionary, or not?.. Boils my BLOOD

@@JoJo-es7tc I agree, it’s unfortunately something society and the internet has made a trend to want to know what sexual position you take. It’s pathetic, but it’s not really something people will take a ‘no’ from.

@@JoJo-es7tc atleast you guys can come out easily in your countries but in India it's still taboo or something being LGBT is curse society will treat different if they get to know about your sexual orientation.

I liked this and I think it is important for young American gays to realize how valuable our right are here. I am older gay man and I remember the days of living here in fear being gay. I know what it was like not having rights or being able to marry. It cost me thousands to have legal papers done so my husband and I would be able to have medical control and visitation if something happen and will. It is so much better now and I hope that every country legalize gay marriage and job and housing protection. The American women was very accurate I liked her a lot.

The American is only representing certain areas of America though. There are still many states that don’t have those protections. Actually more don’t than do. I wanted to share to make sure it’s known there’s still a long way to go in the US and her experience isn’t representative of the entire US. Many areas of the US are still quite similar to South Korea when it comes to the limitations, risks, and conservative views.
@LeztravelTogether
@LeztravelTogether Жыл бұрын
Oh 100% agree. By no means do we want to paint the US in some kinda of perfect light. America is a hot mess with plenty of things, but between the two countries, if we don’t want to fear being fired all the time and want to legally have a family that’s the best option we have. But our goal is to help people around the world who see K-pop and dramas and think “wow Korea is the best” to just be aware that it needs serious work in the human rights area. At least in the US My marriage is legally recognized in every state!

@@LeztravelTogether Totally understand and completely get where you are coming from. There are lots of good but also lots of bad just about anywhere you go, so worth doing a bit of research before anyone moves anywhere. I was born in the deep south of the US and moved to Canada a few years ago, so my perspective is greatly impacted based on the area I was raised in versus my experiences today as well. Many people even taut Canada has being super progressive but similar to the US, it absolutely depends on where you move to. I really enjoy these videos and hope you continue making them because it's so important for others to have a chance to see and understand the differences.

@@januaryhymn haha yep it’s definitely big with lots of different people that have lots of different opinions on queer people. But Federal legal rights feels huge when you live somewhere that you have absolutely no rights. Especially with us wanting to have kids. Because that’s illegal (ivf) for us here in Korea…

I've noticed with lesbians that they do form very heteronormative relationships, one always takes on the role of a man not just in appearance but mannerisms.
@ari3732
@ari3732 Жыл бұрын
As a lesbian, this is a very thing the lesbian community has to work on. I can say it's extremely rare for you to see a masc/stud with another masc/stud and are discriminated against within the community and how masculine women are COMPARED to men. Femme and Femme relationships are more accepted than masc with masc, but you'll typically see masc with femmes. As a femme who likes other femmes, it can be tricky finding femmes who don't only like masc women

Uh, no. It has always been and always will be LGBT. The Q+ came later but if you're mad about it, you can leave, fam. Look at you getting mad at equal representation. Get outta here. Also, the stone wall riots and the US would not be where it is today, in terms of gay rights, were it not for the likes of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera(who were both Trans) so you can take all the seats.
