So SK Hynix A-die is one of the newest yet relatively unknown DDR5 Memory ICs that have come out to the market. The biggest difference is that it can reach much higher memory frequencies both on Z690 and Z790 platforms compared to the previous memory chip models. Especially on Z690 the difference can be almost 1000MT/s on ambient cooling. The hardest part about getting these memories is that they are still mostly available only from China and many of the more notable memory vendors aren't still offering this new memory IC type widely on the market but it will change soon.
The A-die is pretty similar to the previous M-die in terms of latencies. My best latency table was 35-48-48 to 38-50-50 with daily safe memory voltages at these 8000+ MT/s frequencies. You obviously get the best result when using a 2 Slot motherboard as always, and the motherboard models do vary a lot for the maximum voltage as well as not all of the PMIC brands can be hacked as easily for higher voltages than 1.435v. As far as I know, ASUS, ASRock, EVGA and MSI can go beyond that limit with all PMIC brands, but Gigabyte is stuck to only Richtech and Anpec. Seems that Gigabyte is struggling to get over it with Renesas and MPS but this information was from Hi Cookie.
On the video I managed to pass Geekbench 3 up to DDR5-8650+ with CL34-48-48-38 2T and AIDA64 Memory test up to DDR-8600 with similar timing table with mind-blowing bandwidth and latency numbers. Overall, I think this new memory type is an excellent addition to the newest platforms from Intel, as the highlight will definitely lean more towards memory now as the newest CPUs are already set to the max at the factory.
Hardware used:
Intel Core i9 13900K
EVGA Z790 DARK KINGPIN
2x16GB Hynix 5600 CL46 A-Die DDR5 Memory
Super Flower Leadex 8Pack 2000W Platinum
Galax Geforce 710 GT

@@GhazUK What's funny about it? Ok, i figured it will not be possible to run them at over 7000MT/s, but it's really what i planned to build. But since that board still is not available in europe, it will be an Asus Z790 Extreme instead. Got myself a used, watercooled RTX3090 Strix a few days ago, since the rest of the system will be really expensive. Has to do it til RTX5000 series is available. If i had unlimited money i would wait for W9-3495X to be released and build a system based on that, but around 7.000€ already is expensive enough for my taste.

G.Skill is currently putting A-die in kits that were formerly M-die, like 6400 and 6600, FYI. If you are able to examine the package before purchase, look at the alphanumeric string right above the barcode. If it ends in 20M, it's M-die but if it ends in 20A, it's A-die. I have two kits of 6600, the older one is M but the one I just got a week ago is A.

@@guily6669 it's a silicon lottery thing. The very expensive ddr4 say 4400+ mhz kits are chips they test to at least hit 4400.
