some jrpg protags get swords forged by gods, guns made by the barons of hell itself, or secret knowledge from the birth of the universe. Fei, has righty and lefty and that's all he needs.

Fei's soul is BFFs with the closest thing to infinite energy/god. Hell at the end of the game and the wave existence fucks off, gears stop moving - the fuel wasn't enough, they were also powereby the wave existence - fei's is the only one that still works.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind having the speed up option for this so I can farm alot faster, I've never beaten xenogears yet but I do remember making it half way through & then gave up at this underwater boss fight, it was to challenging for me :(

Citan with sword is op. But the moment he gets it, it's almost the end of Disc 1. And 90% of the fights in Disc 2 are gear battles.

Honestly if you used combos it was often practical to sprinkle the lower tier ones in there because they cost less.

@@Neogears1312 only if you were in a fight where you wanted to charge the 'do several deathblows at once' thing up - most fights don't warrant it really otherwise it served no purpose - it's not like you could do 2 deathblows if you did a weaker one instead of your strongest and the later ones had much higher damage multipliers though really for most of the game you should be doing basic attacks really - iirc constantly using nothing but deathblows means your learning deatblows is gimped because you need so many uses of the T1-4 and S1 and 2 attacks to 'learn' the deathblows - constantly using the first deathblow at 4 ap means you never use anything but t1

I just beat this game this year, and I already want to replay it. Despite already being an amazing game just imagine how good it could have been had squaresoft just gave it a proper budget and a proper chance; rather than hoarding all of the money for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, a practice they continue to this day.

Ff7 is one of the most overrated games of all time. Xenogears is so much better. I could hardly get past the first 7 hours of ff7, but xenogears, I couldn’t put down.

@@omegawario7479 I mean if you look online it means alot for many people, but I agree with you Xenogears is much better. Probably my favorite story in gaming. As for FF7:R I despise Nomuras creative vision of the Game, but the gameplay is extremely fun.

@@Realag666 yeah I won’t downplay what the game means to many people on an emotional level since I myself have plenty of games that I love just because I played them when I was younger and have an inflated opinion of them, even knowing they aren’t that good. I haven’t played the remake, but I do admit the game sorta deserved it if for the hype alone, just not what seems like an episodic series that will continue for years. In my opinion xenogears doesn’t really need a remake/master since it holds up pretty well. I wouldn’t object to one though as long as it doesn’t delay the next Xenoblade or whatever monolith is making, provided they would even be the ones doing the job in the first place.

@@omegawario7479 I would welcome a remake alone to see Rico's and Billy's storyline finished and Omnigears for the entire party. Tons of Qol stuff, the random encounters in Dungeons, cutting/streamlining certain parts of the story to improve pacing, there is a million things that can be done that each on their own would level up the experience alot. But I think we never ever gonna get that. The Game is too niche and only older Jrpg Fans still know the game.

It probably won’t happen like you said, but I’ll have you know I’m still in high school and I just beat the game first time yesterday so there are still some new fans out there, just hard to find since most don’t appreciate games like this anymore.

This game hasn't even reach it's full potential yet. 1. The budget was cut because of FF8 2. The creator was so ambitious that this game was originally wanted to be made for 100+ hours of gameplay, so basically this game would have had maybe 4 discs in it's full potential, could be more 3. This game on it's full potential would be final fantasy 7 but it wasn't because of the dark story and sensitive to religious But even so this game can still reach this level of greatness is unbelievable!

Aside for fei's last two and citan's sword arts, the rest are pretty doable before solaris, disc 1. Fei's last two need level 70 and 80, citan doesn't get the sword moveset till disc 2. So, kinda- sure.

Is it? Xenoblade was basically Xenogears, pre Xenogears and saga stuff tossed in a blender and paper machied into a new story that could very well fit into saga stuff anyway. Like, even xcx was like 'okay, land on xenogears planet, human bodies made by machines, minds digitalized, small and fucking mech sized foes' pre xenogears stuff with xenosaga 'humans are hunted by weird alien like creatures', even though not real aliens, with the real gnosis ripoff - the ghost, the other alien group fighting near earth that hadn't made it to earth. Plus the whole 'humans were only able to fight thanks to the kos-mos/t-elos ripoff' idea.

Learning deathblows is a very lengthy process, doesn't help the fact that Elly leaves half way through the game, along with any chances of seeing her deathblows. The same goes for Citan before he transition into his sword mode

I love every Character in this game... They are all interesting, fun and enjoyable. The Deathblows are just such a friggin bonus. My FFXIV Character is specifically glamoured to Citan for the specific reason that I main Monk and Samurai lol

Fun fact: This game was originally pitched as FF7, but got rejected due to being too sci-fi and dark. Some elements of this are in FF7, though, as the director of this game did some concept designs for it.

@@MickeyYaj The music in Xenogears was done by Yasunori Mitsuda, who also did the music for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross Hitoshi Sakimoto did the music for Final Fantasy Tactics, and also Final Fantasy XII and Vagrant Story, all of which take place in Ivalice

Man I loved this game so much! It was also a huge inspiration for the little game I did in school, based on a comic my brother and I created as kids. No mechs to pilot, and you traveled to 2 planets a massive space city and a derelict starship.

I could never figure out how to unlock the other deathblows. The guide says you need to use it in battle to get points to learn the next death blow. But mine never grew. :(

Bro how I remember is grind hard. For example if it's level 1 tier deathblow it will be starting with triangle. Just use that character attacking with triangle over and over as much as you can. After battle look at the deathblow percentage menu sees if it growing, if it is keep doing the same thing. If not attack with different with triangle and square. Repeat. If it works good, if not next battle triangle x button. Those work for me.
