What a beautiful car. I have owned 2 1989 Bentley Turbo R’s and I currently have a 1997 Bentley Turbo R with 569 ft. Lbs of torque. Horsepower is 385 at a very sedate 4,000 RPMs. A proper Bentley needs to have either 1. The old 6 and three quarter liter V8 or. 2. A Bentley made V12 - not one sourced from VW….my 97 weighs almost 6,000 pounds…but it’s a 747 on a runway in terms of linear power. The engine NEVER and I mean NEVER feels underpowered. To me Bentley/Rolls Royce are the best luxury cars ever made. BMWs/Mercedes/Audi/….are boring and dull…passionless if you will. Thank you for sharing your video. Kindly, Stephen

@@kylescarstories2141 Any recommendations for a specific Bentley or Range Rover model? I had many Jags, but now I want to make "the next step". Either a L322, L405, or a Conti GT. My budget is around 50k Euros but I need a reliable car, so Im not sure if an Arnage is a good choice...
@kylescarstories21413 жыл бұрын
@@heinrichschmitz8964 the issue with Bentleys and Range Rovers is that they are top money new, they use expensive complex parts, such as air suspension, heated and chilled seats, etc. If something goes wrong you’re talking big money to fix them. My all time favourite is the L405, I’ve had several L322’s and an L405. The Bentley feels special, whether it’s a continental, arnage, mulsane or bentaga. From driving each though nothing makes you feel like a Range Rover does. Regardless of reliability I’d still opt for the L405 personally.

..would have liked to see the outside of the car much more, the engine bay, the boot, the wheels etc. Was this a ‘Final Series’ car produced in 2009/10 ( only 96 produced) ? Noticed that it had the Hooper rear window option, expensive. I think it cost more than 150k new in UK.

Bob the Boulder. I hope you are wrong about my 2005 T devouring my camshaft. Have you heard of anything to reduce the tendency to do that. I think maybe the "0 weight" oil is an effort to get oil up there quickly. What do you think? I love the car. Never driven anything even close to this performance and luxury. It is a very cool car.

Viel Freude !

I have owned two of these incredible cars. Beware the 'Red label', it is known for blowing head gaskets. Beware the 'T', it is prone to eating its camshafts. If you are serious about buying one, aim for one with low owners and full service history. Oh, and get it checked over by an independent before you part with your hard-earned. Talking of independent specialists, I can heartily recommend 'Starman's' of Market Bosworth, right next to the worlds biggest 'used Bentley & RR spares company' 'Flying Spares' in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire. Get the right one and the rewards are beyond your wildest expectations. Get the wrong one and you'll be bankrupted. Lastly, get ready to be stared at. It attracts attention, lots of attention.

I came across a 2010 (Yes I Know the final series was finished in 2009), It was finished in crystal black - even the dealer didn't know whether it was metallic or not. Crystal black IS metallic It had done 29,000 miles and I bought it. Two things it was black on black on black on black. A friend in the Trade warned me off. He said too much black. That Final Series badge just ate into me. Then I thought Ive got a double garage but Ive also got a CL500 and an early E220 coupe. Delivered on Friday - back with the dealer on Monday evening. Loved it but wrong colour and a fright every time I looked at a car which would assist with filling the 4,000 miles I do every year. Everything about the Arnange is gorgeous but panic has set in. Anyway it's gone and I note gone out of the country and the 000s I lost is now in the dealer's pocket. But, what can I say? A dark car with a Mulliner finish has got to be the dog's. And Kyle how doI know you are not 1.82m? Because you wouldn't get under the sunshine roof! The one that got away. Any others - yes. Back in the day I dithered over a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger 4.7 (most were 4.2 or 260 cu in). Went back on the Monday "didn't;t think you were interested mate"

BMW never owned Bentley! The arnage and RR Royce silver seraph were developed by RR using some BMW parts and power train. When RR was sold, BMW got shafted because they got only the RR name, Bentley as well as the entire RR production facilities and intellectual property was bought by VW. VW moved from the 4.4 BMW V8 to the RR 6.75l which they now owned. BMW had to set up an entirely new factory at Goodwood. So Bentleys made at Crewe are ironically the real RR.

Not true , RR was bought by BMW and Bentley by VW … BMW didn’t end up with just a RR name … ”Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited is a British luxury automobile maker that has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW AG since 2003 - as the exclusive manufacturer of Rolls-Royce-branded motor cars. “
