I usually watch Black Tail KZbin where he works with either maple or redwood, so the veneer is new to me, but that table turned out so great. It’s really cool to se e the process and watch how the epoxy helps to give it some protection and also give it that nice polished glossy look.

man, its so sad to see so many people hating on this guys literal sweat and blood, saying its not worth "xyz" price. im a woodworker myself, and I KNOW exactly how fucking difficult, time consuming, and painstaking it is with these projects. you have very high value clients who expect nothing less than perfection and youve designed this from the ground up with their wants and needs in mind. its absolutely beautiful, and worth every damn penny.

Great work and stunning results. My hats off to you. For northern California, I'd say anywhere between $30-45,000. Much more if using exotic woods. For the epoxy top coat, a Bernzomatic blow torch does a better job with self leveling than a heat gun. It will save you a greater deal of sanding afterwards. Try it once and see for youself.

Thank you! I've used one and in some cases they're too hot and will accelerate the resin flash time, I did try and use one on this table top but I need something with air flow to push the resin around and still that didn't work well lol.

Your die back from your polishing process is from the compound and polishes you used. The 3m compounds and polishes swell the paint and fill in the sanding scratches. After a couple of days or weeks, the solvents evaporate and the swelling disappears aka die back. I recommend the Rupes, 3D or menzerna polishes. These these are water based do not swell the paint and you will not get die back

Let´s do the math, thats fun =) Wood: most expensive part is the beautiful lid - approx. 5-6K all together Metal: approx. 500-800 Epoxy: 300 chargers: 50 each = 600 total Foam and letherwork: approx. 2K Paintwork=500 "Small things not mentioned": 1K work: 350hours with 60$/h = ~21K total of ~32.200$ Now it depends on how you price your shop and your services. In theory there is a win margin already included on the workhours in the built but I would think you add some additional Margin on the product itself. I would assume anywhere between 8-15% 32.200$ *108%= 34.776$ 32.200$*115%= 37.030$ I´ll go for ~36.000$

I use to do custom artwork for a high end designer/ fine furniture in Scottsdale awhile ago. They closed in 2014 I think. I would say it could go anywhere between 40,000 and 60,000 In 2014. It should be more today. The 1 thing you have to remind the new owner of (and make them a cost breakdown receipt for replacement) is...don't forget to have a replacement cost put into your insurance. The standard 5 to 25 grand for content won't replace things like this.

Seeing as I have no experience with woodworking in general _(unless a middle school elective counts),_ I'm going to say it's $76,470.50, maybe more, since I probably undervalued all my estimates. A breakdown of my thought process: ▪︎ 10 wireless chargers are $740.50 ▪︎ The Sabrent charger is $30ish ▪︎ All the stuff in the description is about $2,700 ▪︎ Can't find anything called Sunburst on GL Veneer's site, so I don't know, let's say you spent around $20k for all the various woods ▪︎ $10k on all the metal in the table ▪︎ Like $20k on everything else ▪︎ $5,500 for whatever I forgot, & shipping ▪︎ Let's say labor is $17,500 _(don't know how much you make per hour, so I went with $50 per hour to be safe)_

I takes a bit for me to be impressed and also stay with a woodworking video to the end. I stayed with it full length. I hope you continue to do this high level work and enjoy it. That’s the key. Satisfaction of the customer, but getting accolades when finished. Well done. I liked every aspect of your piece. 👍🏻👏

totally agree, I think the best slot for any wireless charger on a poker table is indented side way slot next to the cup holder. The phone will just be in the way with the chips, but I guess its a home game table people not going to have a giant stack because they don't want to color up.
@ronniepaulinc
@ronniepaulinc Жыл бұрын
that charging port isnt going to cut it.... That spreads 12amps across 10 chargers... Many phones are capable of drawing 3amps for charging, nowadays almost all use 2amps... Combine that with the loss across the length of those cables and with 10 phone sitting on the chargers you are only getting 1amp max per station. There are many phones on the market that will not even engage charging unless there is a minimum of 2amps... Optimal charging is done on a 3ft cable..... anything beyond those lengths and the amount of amp loss accelerates the further you go out to 10ft... Never go longer than 10ft... Combine all that with wireless charging? Those start at a 10 amp Fast Charge draw just to hit the 10w pull of an Samsung S20....

You worked 44days roughly and at that rate you can build 8 of these a year. So you are telling us if you pocket about 30k each you make over 200k a year. These types of clients are so rare though. If he spent 3 months on this he needs to make at least $25 Grand for himself, after overhead this doesn't leave much for him. If he isn't making a good profit, he is just trading dollars and working for min. wage. He needs to charge for his talent. The materials are going to be what they are, most people with real talent never charge enough because they think people will not pay it. This piece should go for about $60,000

@@Bob-uf7en I agree. I was a contractor way back before 2000 and my prices and ideas reflect this. As I said, this was just an exercise for an old mans brain. I do remember starting out and working for peanuts, too afraid to price right. Really...what's the price on that sunburst table? Bet my estimate wouldn't cover that cost. Thanks Bob 2262

That veneer layup on the top was beautifully matched, I was fortunately able to make tables like this for superyachts and am a cabinet maker/veneer specialist . It was the best job ever for me , now I am retired I miss it.

As a poker player the wireless charging on the playing surface is horrible not to mention its right where your chips go.
