I think it would be a really neat idea to do something like this on a lift gate. I had the wild idea to make a motorcycle lift/ patio out of a truck that had a lift gate equipped already.

Thanks! Good luck. The deck is simply supported by pulling out the loading ramp a few feet. It's more than sturdy enough to support the deck + 2 people.

Do you think I could make a whole fold-down ramp door (not half and half) on my box truck out of a wood frame like you did? I know that would be more weight than the half door. How much flex does yours have?

It has a negligble amount of flex if you stand on the very edges. The loading ramp supports it - You could use the loading ramp to support a full size patio I think.

Excellent work! Very creative and ingenious design work in particular. Personally, I would not want a patio deck and sliding doors on a stealth home. I’d never actually use it. The weight of the structure does not justify the benefit.
