Just to clarify, because the way you worded it I'm not sure if you understood or not, the whole show takes place on the giant corpse, they didn't just go there, this episode they went specifically to the knee.

I think some areas might be outskirts on regular land. We only go to sea in the direction of the lower body, the corpse is almost entirely above the water because the water is shallow even there, I feel like it's propped up (presumably by land) as you go up the torso and head (although I'd have to check), there are definitely islands, and it looks like the corpse of something that lived on land (bipedal form). But the town proper and the Emperor's castle are both definitely on the corpse itself. Not actually sure about the Owl House itself, because we never get a good map of where it is relative to anything other than being in the woods outside of town.

@@MAlanThomasII It might be shallow water but it's boiling water. There is land underneath, but then again it's shallow *For the giant*. Which isbig enough to be seen from very high up in the sky. It's so big that each limbs have specific cultures and ecosystems and weather. It could be shallow compared to the Giant, but it might aswell be EXTREMELY deep. Of course there is land ON the corpse, they're not walking on rotting flesh and bones alone, but it's probably land that accumulated over it with time due to possible techtonic activity, well, more than possible since the Sea AND the rain is in a constant state of Boiling

@@Kanamo4781 Sure, but we see some built structures relative to the size of the skull and other such bone structures, and it needs to be able to lay down and sleep without drowning even if it's in the ocean. So I think it's not _that_ large and therefore the ocean isn't that deep at that point. Some of the regional climate weirdness might also be due to particular runes manifesting heavily in that particular area (e.g., ice > snow). It was probably near land it used as a home, given that it otherwise is shaped like a land-dweller (and for Season 2 spoiler reasons).

19:45 The power of the spell is controlled by the size of the glyph (same with the spell circles witches use). The bigger the circle, the more powerful the spell. Back in episode 4 when she first learned the light glyph she did a little one on the leaf and got a little ball of light, and then did that giant circle on the wall in order to get something bright enough to stun Eda.

Can we talk about Amity's character development!!! 😭 Not only is she now more open and friendly to Luz, but after Luz stole her wand, she had all right to be mad at her, but she wasn't and trapped her in cage so Luz doesn't get hurt. She cares so much. This is such different when she called Luz a "bully" ❤ I love them getting closer. And we all saw the little blush 😊

Remember what Eda taught Luz when she first learned the light spell: the size of the glyph/circle determines the power of the spell. So if Luz wants to make a little ice pillar instead of a huge one, she just needs to draw a smaller glyph.

Amity's character development goes hard, she's the first ever character I've kinned! the same thing happened for me, i grew to love her and she's my favorite alongside Eda. Characters like her always have a way of sneaking into people's hearts :D

Ah, Luz and Amity's friendship is so cute. Just two dorks hanging around. But anyway, while it is easy to blame Eda for Luz not knowing much spells, u have to remember nobody in the Boiling Isles actually knows how to cast spells the way she does. Luz's way of casting spells is sort of a metaphor for neurodivergence, as it's apparent in this ep. She can do incredible things, but getting to those things takes unusual amount of unusual work that others might not understand. Eda knows this, so she tries different approaches with Luz in hopes smth clicks. But Luz doesn't have enough patience for this, which is both her character flaw, but also (as a fellow neurodivergent person whom Luz actually is) is so very relatable. Sometimes u just don't have patience to figure urself out and want urself to work like "normal people", which is why Luz stole Amity's wand. Such an incredible ep for Luz's character development.

Man I am so excited for next episode, as it’s going to be one crazy to fun episode yet for Owl House fans 😄 also I don’t know if anyone mentioned that Amity’s Sister is voiced by the same person who done Loona from Helluva Boss, Uzi from Murder Drones and Charlie’s Singing voice in Hazbin Hotel Pilot episode. But yet it still be amazing by her performance being a funny treat to a light series in Disney format. 😌

The show definitely walks the line of kid power fantasy of figuring magic out for yourself and having an interesting metaphor for a learning disability in a school environment. As a lgbt poc with two different mental disabilities, this was definitely the most relatable Luz ever got for me. This is actually because other wise i didn’t relate too much to her…. But at least in season one they got this part right.

Personally, I don't think the training wand would ever do Luz any good for learning magic. It allows her to cast spells without a circle but it uses its own finite supply of magic. Unlike Amity, she wouldn't be able to get a feel for the magic and would be back to where she started when it was used up. If anything, it would be counterproductive. It makes her forget about developing her glyphs. Eda had the right idea, even though I think she was making it up as she went along. If Luz had taken the snow thing seriously she may have discovered the ice spell sooner.

I could honestly tell they werent bad people in their first episode. They simply went a little too far. Looking back at their first episode, I feel its kind of interesting how when trying to take the book from luz, Ed tells her "she needs this!" Like, they really didn't think they were causing actual harm. They really did see it as "tough love" like em said and felt like she needed to learn how it felt.

I love every time Luz finds magic glyphs. It adds to the lore of old witches and wild magic that they keep mentioning. This episode also helps Luz understand to slow down a bit and look, which can be hard when you are a go go go' kind of person. Overall, great episode.

Actually, the twins were not completely wrong on what they did in the library episode, Amity really was getting out of line and bullying other people, it makes sense that they wanted to humble her. Sure, their plan was cruel, but Amity was also being cruel to others, it made sense in their head. They are apologizing now because they realized Amity changed since she befriended Luz, she's already becoming a better person, but of course they still tease and bicker, because they are siblings.

A suggestion for next week *episode 14 (really small problems) is kinda the last filler episode, and the other bad-ish episode alongside once upon a swap, I'd probably do episodes 13 and 14 together because of that. After that the episodes will be substantial enough for their own uploads for the rest of the series. The show really hits it's stride in the back half of season 1 and never really lets up.
