Thank you so much for this video! I was able to save $1000 by replacing a cracked wet end myself. Spa place wanted $700 for a new pump and $120/hr. labor. I fixed the problem with a $75 wet end and $30 of tools. The hardest part was getting the size right.

I have a Jazzuzzi WUA400 II in a thermospa, less than 4yrs old, already leaking at the shaft/impeller. Had to cut away impeller/wetend, it was fused. Helpful video, realizing that they cheapen out with a Chinese pump. I think I’ll order a new wetend and impeller from you although, all seals looked good, worried there was just enough rust on the shaft of an already thin (non USA) design that it’ll just leak again…

I have a pump that needs a new wet end but the local spa place wants to replace the whole motor and pump $600-$700+. The bearing and pump are nice and quiet when running, and no issues with flow or anything. The wet end has some calcium deposits around the shaft, and there is a slow leak somewhere in the tub they can't find (or hadn't tried to find). I asked them why not just replace the wet end if they think THAT is the part leaking and they said if they do that, then the motor is just going to die in 6 months anyway. I don't see how that could happen. Has anyone replaced their wet end and then had the motor die soon after? Sounds like they are just trying to scare me into spending more.

Quick question, I have a WUA400-II that leak from the shaft. The shaft is quite rusty, my question is if I change seals of the wet end will I have a leak again ? does the shaft is creating a seal or it is the impeller that seal the wet end ? I would like to know if I need to buy a seal kit or should I change completely the motor and wet end ?

You can usually clean the shaft up and reuse the pump just be sure the impeller is not damaged they usually are damaged if the shaft is messed up.. there are two versions of the wua400 the standard and the Jacuzzi Sundance version be sure to choose the correct one.. I'll put a video link about cleaning the shaft up it is a different brand pump but the same principle and a link to the site for Wua400 parts.. Planing on changing my WUA400II pump on a sundance 780 series spa. Thank you for the video, one thing is there a way to do this work with out draining the tub?

Looks like the shafts on mine have been milled also. they do not look like those but I have confirmed those are the same as my own motors. The 2 speed ones anyway. I wonder if spadepot is buying Chinese Pumps w wet ends and then pulling them apart and installing impellers that require a collar and milling the shaft to accept them.

So I just replaced the wet end on this exact pump. Old one was cracked and rusted. Put the pump back in the tub. As soon as I opened the water lines, water started leaking right where the shaft goes into the new wet end. I can’t tighten the screw at the back any further so not sure what to do next without pulling apart a brand new sealed wet end. Any suggestions? Thanks

The impeller has to thread all the way down to seal.. If it didn't easily thread all the way down you need to clean the shaft and threads.. I show you how in this video.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmazdqWpi6uWZpo

@Spaguy Hi , I dont know if you can help me out . I replaced my second pump WUA-400 I by a WUA-400 II on a Jacuzzi J235 2011 . The issue I have is the pump isnt running. I put the White wire on #3 and the black wire on #1 and on the Spa pack White on N and black on L What am I doing wrong Thank you very much !

When you put the back end back on, do you need to worry about a switch or anything. On my there is a little piece of metro that appears to be a connection switch. Sticking out. It makes a weird clicking noise when I turn it.

@@SpaGuy The example video is a good reference and shows no wavy washer in front of the bearing at the wet end of the Marathon Electric motor. Does the LX series motor have a wavy washer in front of the wet end bearing or is it the same as the Marathon Electric Motor and has none?
