Great videos, watched all 3, thanks for sharing. Will do this when our 01' 470's AHC kicks it.

Happy i could help. If you need any used parts for it let me know. all of my sensors are still working and the reservoir and pump assembly are working as well. Honestly I was really tempted to keep the AHC as well.

What was wrong with your AHC? Globes? Considering an LX470, and want to keep the AHC working if I do.

Hi Dude, great videos, i have 2001 lx470 and i really wants to know from you before I decided to do the same with my truck. What is the reasons that we have to keep AHC? Thank tou and will appreciate it 🙏🏼

Any idea how to reset the air compressor after installing. I just put a new compressor in and I got no response. Any tips? I couldn't find a video showing how to install the 2005 gx470 suspension compressor. So I just disconnected and connected back exactly. I was wondering if there's a reset relay switch or something?

A lot of people who get the Bilsteins, get rid of them and get the Stock shocks back on. Bilstein's being too stiff for them. My LC with the stock shocks rides pretty well.

HI So the height of 2inch is that measured with the AHC at the N and you add 2" to that height or at H and then add the 2"

Thank you for the video and the comparisons of the two system. After i figured out the adjustable part was only stationary to drop it and 19 mph limited to full height, it felt really (super) gimmicky to me, and i never could feel a big difference between comfort and sport. I was ready to ditch the system completely, agree with the worry of failure and expensive nature of the ahc components. i was in a turbulent wind storm with the lx which felt really unstable so I switched to sport from soft and the change in handling made me think twice about ditching it. You covered alot of concerns that i had about how the landcrusier suspension may not be an upgrade in the handling department.

Glad it helped you. I will be making some more videos about the AHC. such as how to check neutral pressures using a $30 connector on amazon and techstream. If you don't know what I'm talking about you should check out the video. I will have it uploaded soon. Really awesome stuff! not exaggerating at all.
@luckystrike2407 жыл бұрын
OmarHashimi840 I've read about the techstream, something similar was available on bmws, using a K+DCAN cable and inpa software, which I was heavily involved in. I haven't pulled the trigger on getting techstream yet but will do so in the near future. the information is invaluable. I look forward to your video.

If only the shocks are leaking then why disable the whole system? That seems to be what I have seen lots of people doing and I'm fine with it but want to make sure it's the best thing to do. Thanks!

@fredwalker9837 жыл бұрын
Hey man quick question do you still have that parts for the ahc? And my light keeps saying ahc not working or "off" with a blinking light and I know my front shocks are pretty shot is my front shocks the problem?
@BeginnersLuckGarage7 жыл бұрын
Hey. I don't have the shocks because i had to cut them to get them out but i have all other parts because i haven't removed them. As for your light blinking. It could be a number of issues. When you say your front shocks are pretty shot what do you mean? are the seals leaking or is the front stiffer than the back? I think the best course of action for you is to watch my video on toyota techstream. which lets you connect to your cars obdII port (located directly above the gas peddle area) and see all of the codes associated with your AHC system. It will tell you exactly why the light is blinking. The connector and software costs only 22-24 bucks on amazon. here is the link to that video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZq1qHt7mKqdqLc

I’m about to delete AHC of my lx470 2004 soon . A question, how’s the car on the road after the conversion?? Is it comfortable? & I noticed that the lx doesn’t have springs on the front side , just shocks! Is that right??
@BeginnersLuckGarage5 жыл бұрын
Nothing will ever be as smooth as a working AHC system. That said if you are doing a lot of highway driving and roads are generally smooth by you then the swith to standard suspension wont be tribble. The front suspension consists of shocks and Torsion bars. These are long bars that connect to the front control arm and twist when you hit bumps. They act as a spring. These bars are like 5 feet long and run along the inside of the frame. You can probsbly see parts of it if you look under the car. Or just google torsion bars.

Change the bilsteins to new oem lc shocks. They are cheap and ride quality is much better.

Wow that hydraulic suspension system failure potential is quickly killing my excitement about picking up an older LX470.... I hear the airbag suspension system on the LS430 is also a common failure, folks swap that out with standard suspension as well, and it doesn’t sound like it’s as big of a difference. It’s a real shame hearing about this. Does the GX470 have the hydraulic suspension system failure issue?
@BeginnersLuckGarage3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't let that deter you from owning one of these amazing machines. Also I wouldn't necessarily consider it a "common" failure as my LX had 240K miles and the system was still working just needed new globes. These systems are built very well and can last a very long time if properly maintained. the problem is rust and lack of maintenance causes them to be unreliable over time and fail. that said when it is working it is truly an amazing experience. like floating over the road. If you'd rather not deal with it then get a land cruiser or swap out the suspension with standard suspension. the conversion is not costly if you do the work yourself.
@ATRIBECALLEDJUDAH0015 жыл бұрын
About how much would it cost to go from AHC to Land cruiser suspension?
@BeginnersLuckGarage5 жыл бұрын
Depends on where you get your parts. If you get torsion bars at a junk yard and springs on ebay then you cound get it done for under $1000 including shocks. That is if you did the work yourself.
@nasarazam5 жыл бұрын
If you get this done at a shop. how much does this cost? Also would you know the price difference between this and replace with a new AHC?
@BeginnersLuckGarage5 жыл бұрын
Not sure. Might be $500 to 1000 in labor depending on where you go. A full AHC replacemement would be $300 for each height sensor (3 total) shocks are $350 each. Globes are about $600 each and you will probably want new lines if yours are rusty (id say $1000 for lines although haven't been able to find any places that sell them.). So all in plus lablor id say 7k-8K. Not including a new reservoir and pump.
@nasarazam5 жыл бұрын
@@BeginnersLuckGarage Thank you for a detailed reply. Perhaps we are better off going with a used Land Cruiser to begin with? I cannot even turn a wrench :) What will it cost (Parts and Labor) to get it done at a shop of what you did?
@BeginnersLuckGarage5 жыл бұрын
@@nasarazam well for Toyota shocks and springs and torsion bars i would say $800-$1500 in parts depending on if you get the parts from a dealer or on ebay or at a junkyard. Then add another $500-$1000 for labor. A Land Cruiser is not a bad idea they just don't have as many luxury features as the LX.
@nasarazam5 жыл бұрын
@@BeginnersLuckGarage A big thank you for all your replies. Perhaps you should start a "Mobile Garage". You can travel to different states fixing/upgrading LX, GX and LC :) For some odd reasons, used LC seems to be more expensive than an equivalent LX !!!!
