The one I have was a no brainer for me because the previous owner only used it as a grocery getter and had it meticulously maintained by lexus every 5K miles and had all the recommended maintenance done so it is in mint condition. Hey Doug! One thing to note about this generation LC (and the respective LX 570) is that although it SUCKS gas, it doesn't actually suck it that much faster than the other v8 three row counterparts... But rather it only psychologically feels that way because unlike other cars who's gas light turns on when you have 40-50miles left, the LC light comes up when the car still has 20% of it's fuel left in the tank. That's on purpose. As you've noted over the years, this is the car that dictators and warlords need to be but reliable, not only by not breaking down in the middle of nowhere, but also by not running out of fuel. This car has a 24.6 gallon gas tank, but you’ll soon notice that if you fill right when the gas light turns on, you’re only pumping about 18.5~ gallons to top it up (I learned this on a road trip to Florida). Just something to note! Congratulations on your baby as well, I had my second child on Friday too!

Not that big of a difference. Some advice: Make sure you use high quality gas. As you know, sitting gas separates (goes bad) over time. Either add a stabilizer or put in manufactured (canned) gas when you are away for months. Another concern is water condensing in the gas tank. Unlike mild SD, temperature swings in the winter on Nantucket will produce condensation. It is my opinion that Toyotas run best when they are used regularly. Maybe have/pay a neighbor take it out for a spin once or twice a month. Lastly, I'd suggest a once a year undercarriage treatment to inhibit corrosion. Perhaps NH Oil or some similar treatment. Cheap insurance to counter future rust issues on a 45K vehicle.

I remember a couple months ago I was shopping for a CX9 or a minivan for my growing family, just like Doug. Here I am today with a used LX570 in the garage just realizing this video incepted me.

She’s a beauty Doug! I can’t believe you don’t like beige interiors, they are my favorite. Perfect color combo in my opinion. They age so much better. Dark interiors always just look dirty to me. Sweet buy and I think it will serve you well!

Ahhh, you love to see it! These are fantastic vehicles. I just wish we got the 4.5l V8 diesel that they got in Australia with the gas prices that we’ve been having.

Gas in the US is extremely cheap compared to Europe. We pay ~1.85€ per liter for 95 octance and ~1.95€ per liter for 98octance fuel (9.45$ and 9.90$per US gallon) in Germany.

If you say in Puerto Rico, where I live (diesel is sold 5-8 cents / liter or 19 to 30 cents / gallon below regular 87 octane / 92 octane in EU measure) I'd say "fine". But there's a lot of the Mainland US where diesel is sold for more than the most premium gas / petrol grade. Also figure that "book" prices for diesel fueled vehicles run hundreds / thousands above their gas / petrol counterparts, so...

Australian here. They are highly regarded but the uncomfortable truth is the diesel is expensive to maintain and quite a pig on fuel, underpowered too.

In Latin America that’s the pinnacle of money and I love that it is! It is a luxury/4X4/comfy SUV, even though you cold buy something much more expensive, this is a staple of car in here, also it is much more expensive and it lasts YEARS! And lastly it keeps it worth through out the years, that’s why people love them down here!
