As someone who did Invisalign for over a year, I would not change your trays early, let alone changing them at different times. If you do, your top teeth could start moving at a different pace than the bottom ones and they won't fit together. There's a reason why the trays are supposed to be 2 weeks at a time - so your teeth can get used to the new position before moving again. xx

Your chat about not changing for people is an important message both for other content creators and for women in general. We need to stop judging people for their differences and quirks and mannerisms. You're literally not hurting anyone for touching your hair (personally I love it when you do that because it just shows off how gorgeous your hair is, also I'm constantly playing with mine subconsciously so I totally relate lol). I shared a couple snippets of that chat on my Insta stories because it's such an important message. Keep being you Lydia. That majority of us really appreciate your authenticity. :) xx

“I am not going to change for you”. Thank you for saying this! I think that was brave. We all want to be liked and accepted by other people, but trying to mold yourself into what everyone else wants you to be is only going to leave you exhausted, dissapointed and confused about who you actually are, so just be yourself even if not everyone can appreciate it. Everyone’s expectations are so different and trying to cater to all of them is never going to work. “You can be the ripest, sweetest peach yet there’s always going to be someone who hates peaches”. This year I want to say no to changing, downplaying and adjusting myself to be liked more by people who I quite frankly don’t even really like myself!

In the light of recent events in the media and the focus on being kind to each other, it made me so sad that Lydia felt the need to have to defend herself (hair touching, lips)... people need to take a serious look at themselves if they are making people feel they have to justify being themselves. I couldn’t do Lydias job as I couldn’t cope with the hate... so sad.

Lydia, you are not the only one who touches her hair a lot throughout the video. Literally, everyone does it. I have five favorite VLOGS that I watch regularly, and all 5 of you touch your hair throughout the whole video. Not only the whole video but every video the 5 of you, individually, put together. No worries. I totally get it. You probably only do it because you are always seeing your own reflection. I think I would probably do it too. At first, I thought it was like a nervous tic, but all 5 of you are seasoned VLOGers, and I think you are beyond the nervous tic phase. The people on TV don't see themselves, which is probably a good thing because they would not only be touching their hair but touching and repositioning constantly to fix the reflection that they see. If I was walking down the street and could see my reflexion, I would always be adjusting something or another for sure. The flowers are gorgeous. You really are fabulous, Carrie. Lydia would be lost without you. Lydia would continuously be touching her hair if you weren't there to take a lot of the stress out of her life. LOL What, too soon, Lydia? Another great VLOG. Watching you at the end of a shift in the ICU takes away my stress. Thank you for that! I never touch my hair, and by the reflection in the mirror, at the end of the day, that's not a good thing. Enjoy the rest of your week, and don't forget to dance!

You go girl! I never thought your hair touching was abnormal. I touch my hair more when it's straight because it has a tendency to fall toward my face, and I'm always pushing it out of the way. I cant imagine how much I'd touch it if I was looking at myself in a camera all the time! I'm glad you stood up for yourself and said it's not something you're going to change. People who comment about ssomething like that need to find something better to do with their time!

Lydia we love you for who you are, exactly as you are. This is why we watch you. I am sick and tired of all these rude, overbearing people who have the audacity to pick you apart on YOUR channel. Ignore them and their comments loaded with negativity. Jealousy is never reasonable, so explaining yourself is in vain. Most people would be surprised at their idiosyncrasies and habits if they began to record themselves. I look forward to each time I get a notification. You NEVER disappoint. Your growth and confidence are inspiring. I wish you and Ali every success and I’m so happy for all the opportunities you get and share with us.

Honey! We women do not have the same set of skills throughout the month! After our period is over with, we experience new energy, motivation, stamina... - it is an outgoing time where we can get a lot done and our society rewards this type of behavior most! When we approach that 'time of the month', we are called to slow down, it is a cleansing period in which we can access all that isn't working, find new solutions that we weren't able to access prior, rest & restore and prepare for the next dynamic phase! Without honoring this process, we burn out. Expecting to always be motivated and hard-working isn't the way to success for women. Tapping into all of our heightened abilities that aren't linear but rather cyclical throughout the month amounts to greater success and fulfillment. Love your channel, you're my favorite xoxo
@IsabellaBazzara
@IsabellaBazzara 4 жыл бұрын
ps. you can discover your heightened abilities by simply observing what is your natural pull during these 'not so productive or motivated phases'. Many women experience a burst in creativity but first, they need to be ok with the fact that they need to rest and relax a bit more. It is unbelievable how much we can move forward and get more results this way. Think about it, when did you get more inspiration and 'aha' moments... when forcing it to happen mentally or when in a relaxed, playful state? It is scary because society tells us we always need to be on the go to experience success, it's not true :)

You made a video about it maybe 1-2 months ago. I´ve heard so many positive things about GHD over the years but I never could afford their products. But I am so happy that I bought it! The difference is insane! As you said in this video, your hair gets smooth after using the hair dryer. That have never happen to me before! And the straightener is from another world! I´m so happy that I bought it and it was you that gave me that extra push ❤️

Lydia, I have super thick, long hair and it used to take forever to dry! So much so, I only wash my hair twice a week to avoid. I recently bought a microfibre hair turban and it’s cut my drying time dramatically. Whack it on to take out the majority of the moisture, so your skin care/make up then blow dry and style 👌🏼 x

She is a human being, she shares so much of her life with us and if you find something annoying, you can just stop watching and leave it at that. There is no need to write or leave negative comments, if any of us were doing Lydia's job, I am certain we would do the same because we are all IMPERFECT BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEINGS. For all the negative/trolls out there, if you have NOTHING nice to say, say NOTHING at all. Lydia hasn't asked for your opinion. It's HER life, HER channel and all of us that are part of Lydia's community, we get HER and love HER because she is beautiful (inside and out), humble, down to earth and kind. Try a large ceramic roller brush, like a 4” diameter, while you blow dry your hair. I found if you just blast dry, hair gets frizzy after drying. But the large ceramic surface helps with the heat transfer and smooth out the hair. It’s like have a blow dry and straightening at the same time. I have long thick hair and I can get away with just hair dryer and my big roller brush unless I want perfect hair. Oh don’t forget to use cold air to complete cool the hair for a good 2-3 mins at the end. It really adds shine to it and prevents hair get frizzy. Hope you find my trick useful.

Wow, I can't believe some viewers actually criticize that you touch your hair! What is wrong with people, how absurd

I've seen this comment before so for what it's worth I'm gonna repeat it. Stop.explaining.yourself!! I know it's easy to say that I'm not on screen so I'm not living your life but everybody has criticisers the more you explain to them the more you give power to them. Lydia, look at your success for confirmation that it is OK to be literally yourself you don't need to explain to anybody that you're touching your hair because you're touching your hair.

Here is the thing Lydia, when you feel the need to comment back at nameless faceless people telling them to go elsewhere, you lower yourself to their level and come off quite arrogant and insecure in the process. Much classier and secure to not mention those "few" commenters on habits you have that may irk some viewers and just go about being what you feel is your authentic self.

I don’t think ignoring trolls works. Calling them out and blocking them is a far better strategy. I like that she stands up for herself.

Most importantly, let me give you kudos and woo hoos for not only recognizing and appreciating loyalty and hard work being done on your behalf, but also voicing and showing your appreciation for all the wonderful things Carrie does for you and your business. It is such a morale boost for someone’s hard work and dedication to be acknowledged and celebrated! Yea, Carrie, but also yea, Lydia! Also, can you believe the huge difference a little architectural detail makes? Your gym is going to look so fabulous! And lastly, bravo to you on standing up for yourself to the silly hair trolls. Can people be more nit picky, critical, and absolutely ridiculous? Don’t answer that, because we all know they can and sadly you’ve experienced more than anyone ever should. Clearly they never learned basic manners or the simple concepts of consideration and kindness. #bekind

Those big flowers you pointed out are Proteas which are from South Africa. They are part of a treasured local plant variety called “fynbos” and native to the Cape Town area. Bit of trivia LOL. But nice to see our protea flowers in the UK. They are just so beautiful and majestic

Lydia you know I’m so interested in your content that I don’t catch ever move you make. I honestly feel like if someone is watching you for the right reasons that should not be an issue! My husband tells me if I didn’t have my hands I couldn’t talk and. We just laugh 😂 about it, enjoy life. That was the most beautiful bouquet for Carrie and I know she deserved them because you can see how hard she works and what an awesome friend she is too. KUDOS TO CARRIE, love watching all of yours and Ali’s content. Life is Good, no Great 👍🙌🏻😊💛
