SF-1 Archon is a revolutionary low cost Light Sport aircraft. The idea behind the design is to provide a modern jet fighter-like experience to Sport pilots. The aircraft can be built from kit or plans, using basic hand-tools and aviation-grade aluminum. Therefore it requires minimal maintenance and lot of fun.

been following the archon since its conception and I still get excited when I see it fly, if only they could market here in the US I would own 5 of them and be a distributor also, its one of the few concepts that would make flying fun again, you guys at G-Aerosports rock

Outstanding work . Having flown many Aircraft in my career I think with some minor changes made this is a seriously good option . The front nose section is ugly as hell and can easily be reshaped , the canopy needs to be bubble shaped and front hinged with a rear easy to break open cut out for emergency access , the power plant should be a rotax 912 at about 130 Hp , and the aircraft needs more fuel and two tandem seats . If this is done , you'll have people lining up down the street for this super little aircraft . What a lovely thing . Well done

wow i really appriciate you work, great job my friend just ignore these ignorent comment from ignorant people, they cant do nothing in their life they just do fun on other people success. i have few questions what kind of engine model you use? what is max range with full fuel? how much take it fuel per hour? what is max speed?

The engine is a Rotax 503 cc, 2 stroke, air-cooled 46 HP. Can be supplied with a 4 stroke engine to 130 HP. Now the plane it's equipped with two large wing fuel tanks an the range grows to 650 Km. continuous flight.

Interesting -- I love to put Maverick on my helmet and go out for the TopGun look but how practical a flyer is it? Jet wing styling is about speed. I guess it is just not my thing for long term. Fisher Flying Products, Ontario Canada just got a prototype in, maybe I will swing by to see what all the fuss is about😁 Cheers

How about the 2 place with electric package in ducted fan. The idea of a bird strike damaging a prop🔥add ballistic parachute sys. The view is amazing regardless nice job this body style is popular in RC modeling because of stability and low speed handling 👍👍

There is a lot of metal vibration noise. I agree about the jet style canopy. It's very cool but may be a little dangerous, especially with no emergency latch for fire and rescue crews.

I would be leery of a rear hinged canopy in front of a pusher prop. That is a recipe for disaster with those two little latches holding it closed. Also, how does a fireman open it from the outside in an emergency? Other than that, interesting concept.

I've known the F-15 is a lifting body ever since an Israeli pilot landed one with a single wing. It's a stated fact of this aircraft. I assume the F-22 enjoys zone of these benefits as well. I guess all that 1960s lifting body tech was quietly put to work

Oh my God, did everyone see those two tiny little latches that are supposed to ''secure" the canopy? I'd use something bigger than that to keep the door shut on the glove compartment of my car. Someone WILL die from that canopy blowing open mid flight and taking out the propeller. This can't possibly be legal to fly? BTW I've had that Logitech Sidewinder USB joystick for about 15 years on my PC.

I was talking about Canadian air rules, CAR 605.14 canada says: Power-driven Aircraft - Day VFR No person shall conduct a take-off in a power-driven aircraft for the purpose of day VFR flight unless it is equipped with where the aircraft is operated in uncontrolled airspace, an altimeter; where the aircraft is operated in controlled airspace, a sensitive altimeter adjustable for barometric pressure; an airspeed indicator; a magnetic compass or a magnetic direction indicator that operates independently of the aircraft electrical generating system; a tachometer for each engine and for each propeller or rotor that has limiting speeds established by the manufacturer; an oil pressure indicator for each engine employing an oil pressure system; a coolant temperature indicator for each liquid-cooled engine; an oil temperature indicator for each air-cooled engine having a separate oil system; a manifold pressure gauge for each reciprocating engine equipped with a variable-pitch propeller, reciprocating engine used to power a helicopter, supercharged engine, and turbocharged engine; a means for the flight crew, when seated at the flight controls to determine the fuel quantity in each main fuel tank, and if the aircraft employs retractable landing gear, the position of the landing gear; subject to Subsections 601.08(2)17 and 601.09(2),18 a radio-communication system adequate to permit two-way communication on the appropriate frequency when the aircraft is operated within Class B, Class C or Class D airspace, an MF area, unless the aircraft is operated pursuant to Subsection 602.97(3),19 or the ADIZ; where the aircraft is operated under Subpart 4 of this Part,20 or under Subpart 3, 4, 5 of Part VII,21 radio-communication equipment adequate to permit two-way communication on the appropriate frequency; where the aircraft is operated in Class B airspace, radio navigation equipment that will enable it to be operated in accordance with a flight plan; and where the aircraft is operated under Subpart 4 of this Part or under Subpart 5 of Part VII, radio navigation equipment that is adequate to receive radio signals from a transmitting facility.

You’d need a license. Depending on your age, a student license or private license would work as it is a propeller power aircraft. If you were to put turbine engines on it, (not turboprop like I want to do,) you’d need another license.

OH MY - In a previous video on this thing I remarked that it is cartoonish and reminds me of a dinky RC model but never ever did I expect to see a Logitech gaming joystick and toolbox latches employed in the real thing! Most detractors have never even built anything let alone a man-carrying aircraft from scratch (I have) so one has to admire the creator's passion and that he achieved his dream but as a commercial viability I fear this is just too niche and 'homebuilt' - even if it outperformed everything in it's class it would still struggle to find buyers because aviation is a precise and conservative sector. I would say to the creator keep dreaming and developing though I like the way you think.

This is a hand built prototype. Even with the rough construction, it is so efficient it can hit 120 mph on only 40 horsepower, and stall speed is an ultra slow 40mph. You know nothing of which you speak.
