It was a little white lie.
No big deal.
You figured the defense would never learn about it.
You didn't even bother to tell your own lawyer.
But the moment the opposing attorney asked you about it during your pretrial question and answer session known as a deposition, you knew there was no way you were going to tell him the truth.
You figured it had nothing whatsoever to do with your medical malpractice or accident or wrongful death case. You were right about that. However, your intentional decision to tell a falsehood (also known as a lie) will have some devastating consequences for you, your case and possibly even your own attorney.
If you lied under oath, you could be prosecuted for perjury.
The judge might refer you and your case to the district attorney for criminal investigation and possible prosecution.
If you lied under oath, your credibility will be destroyed and it could easily destroy your otherwise valid case.
If you intentionally lied, there is the possibility that the judge will think your attorney knew about it and had an ulterior motive for putting you on the witness stand, knowing you were going to lie in order to try and achieve a favorable result.

Hello Gerry Yes exactly I have had my deposition and the defendant and both of them have lied more than a dozen times each and told separate very conflicting opposite stories and I have them on tape and audio video recording is my case Won because of this ?Because I am suing for 5 million and I have professional team that was hired the best I could fine I’ll give me a report on that amount of damages do I automatically win that settlement amount if I go to court because of their cousins and dozens of lies caught on camera after they’ve already done the deposition which was done a few months ago and now we’re going to trial possibly I don’t think they want to because the obvious

My case first had to go through some Commission. The lawyer told two lies there. I cracked one of the two. When the case went to court, the lawyer took off the cracked one and kept the other. The same lawyer. I was shocked when I read the dismiss. Of course, I pointed it out. The lawyer left the case and the law firm, but another lawyer in the same law firm took it up and went on with the case. They made me feel the court does not care about lies.

The opponent lawyer in my case lied in a motion knowingly, and I caught it in my reply. He did not explain it because I caught him well. Later he left the case and the firm.

@@NYMedicalMalpractice The lawyer might think it was a second language stupid pro se that he went too much. A new lawyer from the firm goes on the case. I guess they want the cash for whatever they file to the court.

@@NYMedicalMalpractice in circuit court the judges let them selfs be manipulated and which ever story makes sense he goes to even though they committed perjury. So the respondent is always forced to file a Motion to vacte with evidence that they fabricated the testimony and even then the judge will deny the motion because they care more about their reputation than justice. So it always end up in the appellate court. Data is being manipulated in the system and the non profit organizations hold a monopoly in the circuit courts.

What if you say something that may not be truthful but it's something you said unintionally? Like if you said something not true but you somehow said it without realizing it?

It seems like this video is for anyone considering filing for divorce to reconsider. Instead of getting divorced, move into the basement or out of the house. Stay married. Getting divorced... and going to court are going to destroy your family forever.
