Brent, your camera work really helps to reveal the intricate details involved with the essential block work and your methodical approach to describing the process makes everything crystal clear. Your heart and circulatory system is kinda like a priority main oiling system 😉and I’m glad that you can treat your condition with the proper medication. You’re one of my favorite online builders. I appreciate everything that you do for the Motorsports community 🏁.

I'm building almost the exact same build (RPM block at the machine shop as we speak) and it's my very first build. I'll be paying very close attention to this series. Thanks for all you do Mr Lykins!

Several years ago I was feeling poorly and my Doc odered some tests. They discovered that my red blood cell count was out of whack. I was around 40yo at the time. They gave me a blood transfusion and suspected something serious. Two weeks later I had more tests and everything was normal and I was feeling much better. I retuned to work and a day later I was doing an injector flush on a customer's car and while it was running I picked up the can of flush. After the typical warnings about wearing gloves it stated , "may damage red blood cells" I almost fainted on the spot. From that day on I used the product with respect and gloves and 33 years later I have never had the problem again. I guess I'm saying that to be careful with some of the new chemicals we use for cleaning and other things these days. Wear a mask and gloves, especially with the doors closed. The world needs you, Brent.

Glad to hear that you are doing well! I went through something similar where they thought that I had a heart attack. All the tests turned out negative and I am still alive. Symptoms were similar to following a Turdyota in my 427 Cobra (ERA replicar).

Glad you're feeling ok. My wife had SVT about 4 times before doctors were able to correctly identify the cause. She had a cardiac ablasion a few years ago and has been fine since.

That is a beast of a block! Love 'old school' cast iron....it can take TONS of HP. How much more than an OEM 427 side oiler does it weigh? I was worried when I saw that 'FORD Blue' spray paint cap. But, it turned out looking awesome! BTW: I wish that I was your pipe plug salesman!....lol

Hi, it is great to hear that your health is ok! I love weber carburators. In Argentina, the majority of race cars use weber carburator IDA, IDF, and DCOE, particularly, I prefer IDA because it has longer venturis, and with all weber carburator it is very simple to make a change in main jet, emulsion tube, or air jet, you can change venturies sizes very easy, etc..unlike of Holley stuff you don't Have to drain the bowl to make a change. Some race cars in Argentina have Holley carburators with a custom plate, which allow uses main fuel jet and emulsione tubes from a weber carburator. Last but not least, there are plenty of intake manifolds which allow you individual carburation with weber stuff. regards

Never been a Weber fan. Extremely expensive for less performance.

@@lykinsmotorsports Yes, it is true that they are very expensive. but I Love the simplicity of weber. I Don't know why you say less performance, of course you have more knowleged than me. but I saw a lot of six in line turning near 10.000 rpm with only one weber IDA 51 of course they are tunned, but it Don't Have problems. I leave two KZbin links with a typical configuration with a weber you can ser in Argentina. the First a drag race Ford Falcon six in line pushrod engine with 3 IDA. the second Ford DOCH engine in a Dyno m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5nMf6KrjMelgqs m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIi7XnmiiZdqo5o

Would it be possible, to build a STD Bore & Stroke 427 with hydraulic roller lifters (Using the block shown) Using premium parts to run on unleaded 91 octane pump gas ?

Why would you need wider cam bearings? For high valve spring spring pressure?

What determines whether or not you use the rear pressure relief valve ? Do you normally just plug it and rely on the pump spring ? How about in a dry sump application? Would you then use the pressure relief in the block ?

The 352 marking on factory blocks was on many other blocks, not just 352's.

I’ve seen the “352” indicator on factory 428 castings as well. The block part number should help avoid any confusion about the identity of the block.
