I love it. And soulfull. Thank you sisi. I went to see my auntie this morning for café, was early. The auntie that called me Bandolera, Esther Williams, amante ... sweet words growing up from eldest Auntie Emilieta. How come she called me Esther Williams? There wasn't a soul that could take me out of the water, loved it so much either ponds, rivers pools. Went up to the terrace on her 3 storey building. Sat where my uncle Ricardo cooked all the Paellas and where she hungs her laundry. I cracked a tear listening to it... Those tears that come naturales when one feels them, ancestors so within and with them. At first of grief then of gratitud. So no grief... Could only listen to half going to hear it again. Your music and ways have help me stay tuned and when alligment has ceased, and no happiness or pain, or even anger I do too turn to them, and with tears I melt my good fight insteid of anger. Only discover recentley I was not crying because I seem to be putting my crying for it to be contructive?. This works for me everytime it is as renewing and as healing as the power of the moon. First and foremost, thank you for this morning. I woke up with a new intention and I started my day with a prayer, stretching, deep thinking, and then listening to this video. Being part native, I found that listening to Lyla to be very beautiful & elicites many ambiguous feelings. I’ve never seen or heard a native or indigenous person singing like her or even rap a little bit like she has in the past. I’ve always loved the first song I heard from her which was, All Nations Rise. I love this song but… It has way too much autotune. Lyla has a beautiful voice and a gift of singing and rapping while the poet in her rises. She brings all of this not just from her words, but out of her voice and soul. The message she sends so clearly through her own voice It’s so very powerful. Next time I do ask you Lyla, to keep the autotune out as much as you can because that’s what main stream music does so frequently that it’s not even music to many people. I don’t see you as a main stream artist, I see you as a unique, indigenous, artistic, talented, passionate First Nation woman who wants to relay messages through music and your voice.
