I am going to show you the fossil samples I take with me on the fossil walks , when I go along the Jurassic Coast- at low tide. As long as you don`t dig in the cliffs in situ, your allowed to collect the fossils that wash out along the shoreline. There is fossil collecting code of conduct online you can see called the " West Dorset Fossil Hunting Code Of Conduct."I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide.Have a look at some of the fossils you can find along the Jurassic Coast in this video. The best tools are your eyes when finding fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfo... There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassic Coast. I’m sitting on the edge of a mudslide in this video. They come down out to sea the mudslides do in the Winter months#fossilhunter#fossilfinds#fossilshowandtell .

A great visual guide to the typical fossils found at Lyme Regis, and a good point about the tides too. Pleased to see that the ammonite and belemnite models are being put to good use.

Thanks 🙏 very much indeed Mike . The ammonite and belemnite models have been very much appreciated by everyone, they really show the morphology well of the marine creatures. I hope to use these two for evermore as great demonstration models , they have lasted ages so far 🙌🙏

There are fossil Ammonites from my guided fossil walk box to show people . There is a plastic model there in that video to show the morphology of Ammonites off to children. The kids like grabbing that plastic toy model as it’s fun for them to play with. It’s a good teaching aid though showing off the ammonite and what it would have looked like

Kids do so well finding fossils at low tide they are closer to the ground and have better eyesight. I think 🤔 they have the extra energy about them as well that helps
