Are you experiencing arm swelling or have been diagnosed with lymphedema? Our latest video is here to help! We’ve compiled a series of exercises designed to stimulate your lymphatic system and reduce swelling.
Deep Breathing: Start with deep breathing exercises, focusing on each quadrant of your belly.
Neck Bending: Bring your chin to your chest, then towards your right and left shoulder. Repeat 10 times.
Pull Downs and Self Hugs: Raise your arms up, bring your elbows down, squeezing your arms as close to your body as possible. Then, open your arms wide and give yourself a hug. Repeat 10 times.
Armpit Squeezes: Perform shoulder circles while squeezing at the armpit area when going downwards. Repeat 10 times.
Elbow Bending: Perform regular elbow bends and 10 elbow bends with the forearm pronated or facing down.
Wrist Bending: Bend your wrist up and down in full range of motion 10 times.
Hand Opening and Closing: Keep your arm up as much as possible while opening and closing your hand 10 times.
Finger Bending: Flex your fingers like making a claw 10 times.
Leg Clams and March in Place: Perform 10 leg clams and 10 marches in place to stimulate the lymph nodes concentrated at the groin area.
Finish up with deep breathing and measure the biggest area where there is swelling to see if your arm has shrunk even for a few millimeters. Try to do these exercises twice a day for maximum results. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise regimen. Stay tuned for more health and wellness tips!"
