I remember watching the F.B.I. and Bewitched "in color," not noticing anything different only not realizing we needed a color TV set; something that didn't happen 'til years later. We arrived from Mexico with very little English and that shows like this one? Help my three brothers and I pick up English a lot faster. And we have always tbaked mom for letting us practice our English in the home always and with in two years or arriving we became fluent in English. Because if TV shows and radio. How many actors are remembered for their work during the 70's or 80's or even last week? Lynda C has this one iconic role which means a lot to people especially women. I'm not sure she understands or maybe she gets tired of being remembered for one role, but seeing a woman kick some butt is very empowering. More women need the courage to do the same.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! PRINCESS LEIA!!!! Isis. Electro Woman & Dina Girl lol. There wasn't a better time in history for great, positive female role models. Keep pretending there's a glass ceiling.
@mikehike5966 жыл бұрын
I think she was referring to pre-1975 women, when _Wonder Woman_ debuted, and some of your examples came after 1975. (I'm also not sure if at least Marcia Brady would qualify.) Yet you make a good point (for that matter, there were strong female role models even earlier, as Emma Peel from the 1960s' _The Avengers,_ and there were others from prior decades such as Barbara Stanwyck); perhaps Megyn was referring to super-powered women and not those such as Police Woman. For example, Megyn did bring up the Bionic Woman, but crossed that example off her list for the reason she described in the video.

@SusanNatoli6 жыл бұрын
A man didn't create Wonder Women. Marston's wife created Wonder Woman and he wrote the story. Bondage is also fictional. This character had absolutely NOTHING to do with bondage. One of the first illustrations of Wonder Woman has her breaking the chains of male superiority and prejudice against women. The inspiration for the chains came from the Statue of Liberty, who has chains lying at her feet. In the early 1900′s, many images of Lady Liberty bound in chains to remind Americans that the “ideals we value and even the republic itself can be taken away if we do not remain vigilant.” This was a theme in most early comic books because our country was in the middle of World War II.
