This is brilliant. As a classical trained musician have always struggled with jazz improvisation but this gives an easy to follow framework. Many thanks and more please.

Hi Lynden, you have helped me so much already, I'm a mature (old) beginner Tenor player, it's great to see and hear the theory being applied in a practical and easy to understand way. Thank you so much... Phil

Some thing that is coming through for me on these blue scales based videos is that the 5th and 7th notes of the scales are much more engaging than the root and 3rd in creating melodic lines. Thanks Lynden.

Hello. Yep I think you are true. Less is good and enougth if the notes are corrects. As long time pianist, I was allways playing lots of notes. 10 months ago, I discovered sax. You learned me a lot ❤. Tomorrow, for the music festival, that will be my first concert. Honestly, i would prefer playing my usual piano (playing a billion notes per minute), but I will do my best with this fabulous instrument playing the good notes 😂. Thx for the video

@@lyndenblades You were right! My lips were too strong because I was stressed and hight notes was difficults. But when I realize it immediatly, I changed my improvisations to lower notes. Honestly, watching the video today (even if I thought my song was bad), it was "inside" during the 30 minutes. For a first play in front of fifty persons, people enjoyed ;) I keeped in mind "simplicity". Thanks for.all

Okay, I watched the video again. You use F minor to work with the chords in the second section, right?

Ciao Lynden Congratulations for your educational videos, really interesting. This way of improvising interests me a lot, but I don't understand how to choose the scales based on the piece. Can I use this technique in every song even if I don't know the chords? I only know the tonal center, how do I choose the scales or scale to improvise? Thank you very much Pietro
@lyndenblades6 ай бұрын
Hi Pietro and thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately you can’t use this method in EVERY song, but you certainly can use it in a lot of songs and I would recommend that you learn the chords anyway. The example in the video is in D-7 for tenor sax and that’s why the D blues scale fits, as it is a kind of D-7 scale. Hope this helps 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
