Lynn: I used to crave the ability to meditate; I just can't turn my brain off. One day I was sewing (badly, but still love it) and my housekeeper at the time came in and said "I've never seen someone tune out the world like you do when you are sewing". I realized at that moment, we all just need to find our peaceful refuge...washing dishes, sewing, cleaning...whatever gives us the ability to tune out the noise, even for a short time, is our meditation, our way of silencing the world. You are so wise and calming; I just love your channel, thank you for letting us into your heart and your home.

Hi Lynn, I'm so glad you talked about a robot vac. I'm a 68 yr old widow raising my 3 grandsons, and I have limited mobility. My back has caused me to be like this. I had a major surgery years ago, and now I have to have another one bigger than before, and there are things that are very hard for me, laundry, vacuum, and mopping, etc. standing and walking, which have become so painful, and I live in severe pain every day and scared til death of another back surgery. My grandsons so help a lot, and my church family is great. I'm in a fixed income, and kids are expensive, and I want a robot vac so badly but just can't afford one, but maybe someday, so thank you for saying how handy they are and how helpful.

Hi 🙋🏻♀️ Found you today and watched this video. I just want to say thank you much! 👏🏼❤️ I struggle with depression myself, I'm married, have a soon-to-be 7-year-old son, a dog and I'm 25 weeks pregnant. Many can't understand if it's messed up, untidy and dirty, and just label it as lazy. It's not like you don't want it any other way, you just can't. I also know that with being distracted quickly and can understand it so well. 🙈😄🤭 I have finally had a good phase for about 2 weeks and have already been able to tidy up, clean and even change a lot. just want to have everything pretty again and feel comfortable. I want my son to finally be able to invite friends to our home and that the baby does not have to grow up in chaos here. You're just giving me energy to keep going. So thank you very much 🥹👏🏼❤️ Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 🥰

A CLUTTERED MIND BRINGS A CLUTTERED HOME AND VIS VERSA
@mudandglitter1609Ай бұрын
Lynne, from someone with a similar situation and out look on raising children, I would like to raise a point that I needed to learn. Which is that when we do things for our children, we deny them the advantage of the experience to learn from. So while we feel like we are doing the right thing by just letting them be kids, unburdoned by the adult world, and we are to an extent, some of what we pick up the slack on is actually putting them at a disadvantage. I find that this happens for me with my son far more often than my daughters. Being the youngest doesn’t help. I just want to hold on so badly to that childhood. But, recently, I realized that at 13, it's time to start teaching him how to live a good life. I spent a lot of time and effort encouraging and teaching my daughters how to be independent and self-sufficient. But for some reason, I was not following suit with my son. It took reflection. It made me realize how important it will be for him to know the same things. If he is married, as he dreams of one day being, it will make him a better partner. But he will not have to marry if I do my job right, and that is freedom.

Lynn I came across your video depression and the state of your house have a lot to do with each other. Wouldn't it be amazing if we had partners that instead of scrolling just rolled up their sleeves and actually pitched in when you are stressed? I'm not here to bash but also not having help can also add to it everyone skips that. When household responsibilities are shared this can also alleviate the stress and depression a messy household creates. I mean just set a timer for kids and hubby to help pick up clothes and garbage. I tell you having to deal with the brunt of all the household chores alone can cause just as much stress and depression but no one talks about this. I mean I don't know your situation but teamwork does wonders for the mental health and also avoids resentment buildup. I mean if you actually had help I don't think your viewers would mind they might even agree.
