The ZIP code system was introduced in 1963, so the ZIP code on the back glass was something new at the time

Joe, Do you still have your game?? I still have a few problem with mine. I'm looking for pictures of the underside of the play-field. The extra ball light does not work and I want to see is the previous owner changed the wiring around. Thanks, Tim

Sorry we already sold it... I've heard that some people would put a resistor on the line to lower the voltage so you could use a regular bulb, if they did the resistor might have burnt out. On mine, it just used a special bulb that could handle the higher voltage and I think that was factory.

I remember in the seventies seeing a football/soccer themed table with a back board where a player figure kicks balls up a ramp into a track above. I have only seen this game once. I find games with these displays in the back board very rare but very fascinating. I suspect these must have required more maintenance to keep running. This table does have some interesting things happening on them like the carousel rotary target. Nice video.

Thanks Clark! ... we had a game called "Soccer" a few years ago that had something similar to that but it didn't have a figure doing it, it was actually pretty fun though! You can see a video here if you'd like : - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3bZeoydgLBlgas

Neat to see the flipper feature, to avoid the gambling side adding skill to the game, the art work reminds me of the Russian Tsar's watching the ballerina.

And in a way, many things 'new' are also 'old'....in this case as mentioned, the older games had a manual plunger to lift the ball to the shooter spot. If you wanted....you could deliver 1-5 balls to the shooter at once and fire away for a 'multi-ball' game! Only once a game though!
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 жыл бұрын
I never thought about that, you'd have to be pretty 'flippant' with your money though to waste the extra balls :) Thanks for watching Lawrence, we appreciate it!

Beautiful machine. Silverball in Asbury Park NJ has this one and it's February's game of the month (highest score at the end of the month gets either a free hour pass or free day pass depending on the month. I won a free day on the Melody machine and a free hour on Addam's Family. Anyways, did you ever figure out how the machine keeps score after 1,999?

I never understood the need to go to massive scores. It's basically the same thing. What's the difference between getting 1 point or getting 1000 points, other than the 0's. IT's like the dummy score rail that always read 0 just to make you think you had a bigger score, but the scoring is still the same. I love these unusual Gottlieb's
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brendan, I always felt the same way... it's worth mentioning that when Jersey Jack pinball started by releasing their "Wizard of Oz" Pinball machine a few years back, they did actually turn the scores back down a bit. So the race to trillions did slow down slightly :)
