so running a 40a balancer and using a 48v 10.4ah and a 48v 17.5ah battery is not a good idea since they are different ah batteries?

I doubt it. I've used a 120v by 120amp dual battery module with multiple batteries and voltages for a while now. I've run a 48v 23.5ah with a 52v30ah battery and never had an issue but that was temporary as I was waiting for my 2nd 52v batt to come in. Now I run two 52v by 30ah shark style batts all the time in every scenario imaginable with zero issues. I have a digital heat gun and check my components quite often and never see them run much above ambient temps besides the controllers of course, they do produce heat under hard use for extended periods. The module was about $118.00 from amzon a year ago. Good luck with your project.

I have been running 48v 13ah and a 20ah with balancer just fine. The balancer regulates until the higher capacity is equal to the lesser one and then regulates them together.

I was worried myself but needed more range than my 36v 13ah had so built a pair on 36v 25ah packs but only one of the 2 new batteries has a Bluetooth bms on it , and after charge balancing all 3 I put them all together in a Parallel arrangement, it works fine and I'm able to actually see the discharge and in my case the last battery in this Arrangement will take on a small charge when load is off like coasting or stop at intersection and I can see as much as 1 amp flow back in to last battery for a few seconds then taper off as there all balancing themselves this isn't a Problem and most likely due to inter wiring an connections . Now I added a 4 amp charger to this system and charge the main battery and all 3 get charged at the same time and to make it faster 1 can an do put the old 2 amp charger on last battery to give all 3 batteries a total of 6 amps , this works out just fine and gives me a 65 mile range . I'm disabled so can't walk enough to be of much good and depend on my bike for exercise even though I probably can't peddle it more than 10 feet without battery Assist

Hey can you help me plz I have an Xclass 52v 18a e-bike I added and extra battery 52v 20a fully charged it and an Alibaba 40a Battery blender for some reason while riding for 5 mins it shorted out any suggestions why this happened?

Excellent video! I just purchased a dual battery ebike. Its the Amp rides Apex. One battery is 52 volts 25amps. The other battery is 52 volts 20amp. Its running using a blender and 40 amp controller. I went from 58.6 volts to 48.3 volts doing 22 miles. Does the display only show the reading of one battery.or both? I feel I should get more range. Do you also have some advice on charging my battery? My 4amp battery burned out after one hour of use. That's why I couldn't get it to 58.8. volts. It gets real hot. Thanks

Yep something not right as I get with two 22Ah batteries over 60 mile range and I am heavy guy. The blender doesn’t even get warm and it pulling 50 amps at times when have both motors running up bill. Usually just run the rear 1k watt motor most of the time and go 10 miles commute on it and get about a little over 60 miles range before I charge the batteries.

Really interesting stuff. I'm like grabbing the popcorn and reading the back and forth... Not gonna like that Lyric looks great, and on paper it was one of my top 5 picks. I've also have my eye on the Yeasion bike you ride too. I'm looking for a solid 30+mph ebike to be able to ride away from the groms on their Rads here in SoCal.

I own a lyric graffiti after speaking to the owners what I was explained was that the manufacture of the battery messed up on a few batteries and installed a 50 amp fuse which was not part of the design for the bike and is redundant because the bike BMS is supposed to protect the battery so basically they are sending out new batteries because the battery manufacturer messed up and the new batteries will not have the 50 amp fuse Another thing I am understanding about the bike it does not run both batteries at once it runs one battery down to a certain level then it switches to the other battery

I’m almost 100% positive the battery don’t run at the same time the controller switch from one to another I was explained that you could turn both of them on and the controller will switch from one to another or you could turn one off run it low then switch to the other one

They are running them in parallel, their is no discharge module and the ASI BAC 855 only has one battery main input not two. No smarts to switch from one to the other? Plus no discharge modules even the first intelligent ones currently on the market works with regenerative braking. So they can only run the batteries with a parallel Y splitter. It drains both batteries down at same time when both are switched on. You can just turn on one or the other manually with the switch. Yes you don’t use a inline fuse, they will blow, I learn that many years ago on my own e-bike builds. A proper good BMS will work just fine. Only on charge side you use a fuse. Their are people that smoked the BMS as well not just the fuse and some people claiming they were told they had to wait 4 months. I highly doubt your a customer and more a company representative to down play the issue, which is fine but 4 months for a new battery is unacceptable? Plus that bike sure have had a discharge/blender like most manufacturers do and just disable the regenerative braking system like most manufacturers do on the dual battery option version. As you stated yourself no 50 amp fuse sure have been added as redundant and that one of the reasons for a BMS. Yes knowing there now a 50 amp fuse inline is also another flaw, a easy one to fix as in the battery but a flaw that needs to be dealt with?
@thetechgenie7374

If you are actually a customer I am sorry for coming off as rude but they are downplaying the issue to you. Their is no discharge/blender module they stated so themselves on a comment in someone else’s video. Plus regenerative braking doesn’t work with any discharge/blender modules currently on the market at this time. Then the ASI BAC 855 controller doesn’t have two battery inputs. They using a simple parallel configurations Y splitter pretty much. Yes people are have that 50 amp fuse blow as well but a few also had the BMS smoke as well and a couple stated it smoked pretty badly to the point that they thought battery was going to catch fire? That all besides the point? My point in this video is they sure have disable regenerative braking on the dual battery option and used a proper discharge module and they won’t be having as many issues. I didn’t even know about the 50 amp fuse till some people yesterday confirm their is one and a whole another issue. You don’t use a inline fuse especially a automotive one or any as redundant anyways, they will blow due to inrush and peak current.

It's easy to just swap cables on my old bike. I like having a 6ah small saddle bag battery as emergency back up. When my 13.5 ah big pack starts cutting off I can switch to the small one to get home. Then the big battery has time to rest and will have a little more juice in it. It's a win win.

If you had the graffiti, what batteries would you put in it and why the graffiti battery has a 50 amp in-line fuse that blows that's what some are having problems with
@thetechgenie7374
@thetechgenie7374 Жыл бұрын
It would have when with 21700’s like Samsung 50e cells instead of the 35e they used and 60v setup instead of 52v configuration is what they sure have when with. Plus put a discharge/blender module instead of a Y parallel configuration and disable regenerative braking as more problems then it is worth for at least the dual battery configuration. That actually would keep fuse from blowing. Plus people also have had the BMS smoke and blow as well not just fuse. If they when at least 60v that bike would have a good amount of Löw end torque and get to top speed without hesitation and likely go over 40mph easily. You also don’t put a inline 50 amp likely automotive fuse. They will blow as not designed for that Voltage as well as inrush and peak current will blow it. I done that mistake myself and blew several before going with a breaker setup and going with a good active balancing BMS instead. Only thing use a fuse on is charge input. It the reason why most of us that do high power builds don’t use fuses and go breaker route instead.

@@thetechgenie7374 could I just use a 52 V 21700 24 amp hour battery would that make any difference at all?
@thetechgenie7374
@thetechgenie7374 Жыл бұрын
@@rmccaul59 I was able get about 2600w which is 600w past the 2000w limitations as I push it that high on 52v till I ran in to back EMF issues. I was able to pull 50 amps at 52v using Samsung 21700 cells You get some improvements as less voltage sag, more current per cell and a little more power and definitely more torque, top speed will be the same as you have to increase voltage to get more RPM out of the motor. To get much better performance out of that controller it needs 72v as I used that controller on BBSHD and shines on 72v as was able to push 100 phase amps reliably though it pass the 90amp limit that controller can handle as modified it a bit to run cooler. It a very capable controller that one thing Lyric did right. I just wish they when at least 60v and 21700 cells. Then that bike will exceed it rated performance no problem. Controller would have to likely be reprogrammed. Only thing wondering is what motor they are using and how it wounded. It also makes a difference and if it can handle the higher current? 24Ah is going to give you more range vs the stock 17.5Ah. I also would look into disabling the regenerative braking and put a proper discharge module in, or just keep both batteries at same state of charge and make sure same capacity both matching and you sure be fine.

This is really interesting...thnk you for putting the info out. I wass wondering though: would a battery blender/discharge controller limit performance? I mean if its stopping the battery from realeasing a high output into another battery, wouldn't it also limit the power going to the motor?
@thetechgenie7374
@thetechgenie7374 Жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t limit current to the controller as has a separate output to controller. It just limit current back feeding into other battery though mosfets to prevent damage to other battery pack from that rush current trying to equalize the lower state of charge pack. Other way to prevent damage to other pack without a discharge module is to keep both batteries at same state of charge of course both packs have to be same capacity. You get the full current capability of both the batteries so long the discharge module is rated for that current as you buy the module for your voltage and current requirements. The one shown in video rated to a 100amps at 72v, so can put it 100amps if both batteries are capable of putting out 50 amps continuous.

I guess now the a PR representative is trying to downplay the issue. Customers are saying to as well that they were told it just a 50amp fuse even though some already stated they that the pack smoked pretty badly one even stated almost caught fire? Then he was told it take 4 months for a replacement battery to arrive as well? Then Lyric try to lie and state they were not customers or angry people that hated them and that the batteries were not failing at all and made it all up in spite? I actually saw the response to him and a couple others that actually how they responded and one guy they stated that they refused to sell him a bike as he was rude to their staff and that he lying on purpose to attack them in spite? Yet more and more different people were stating the same imo and some people stated no response or no date for a replacement battery to arrive. I notice the pattern with this company is to lie and downplay issues overall and claiming people just hating on them? My response to them Yes you don’t use a inline fuse, they will blow, I learn that many years ago on my own e-bike builds. A proper good BMS will work just fine. Only on charge side you use a fuse. Their are people that smoked the BMS as well not just the fuse and some people claiming they were told they had to wait 4 months. I guess the sort of correct people will start to hate you when they get treated like that after spending 3k plus on the bike and the batteries are failing already and then being told it take 4 months for a replacement, or being called hater’s?
