a frame mounted Polly case battery is what I used.. after adding it the tendency to front end wobble completely went away... Before..it begann to wobble above 25 to 30kmh... after adding weight to the front it now is stable to ride freehanded with 40 to 45 kmh and after a slight push on handlebar it self stabilises after one or two light wiggles ... feeks very safe now!! so a frame mounted adds stability (while a rear mounted pack can make a bike unsafer)

Matt, I put my battery in a rock brothers case, but that one is nice, and I bought a grommet kit, 1inch, and crimped it at the bottom of the bag to run my wires, now hard for rain or anything to get in and you can’t see my wires

I like the 5-star, but you mention a dual crown fork upgrade. It looks like the 5-star has provisions for a frame mounted front rack. The dual crown fork likely isn't compatible with a front rack

Agreed. We do like our front baskets too. Tough choice, but with the sturdy frame and storage on the rear rack, I think we could forgo the front rack.

I wish i would have got my gold rims for my Dual Star. It shipped with black rims. I still like the black rims, but I was told my red bike would ship with gold rims. They refunded my $49 to my C.C. No biggie. I'm just curious what new gold rims with a complete new motor set up would be.

Curious…so I have the Dual Star with the two batteries already. It’s a cadence bike. I think I heard you say you are switching the bike back to a cadence. I am curious as to why? Do you prefer that? I like torque. Can it be switched to torque? Is it cost prohibitive and complex if so?

The torque sensor option is part of a controller package, to our understanding. Honestly we want to do it, because we can. I have always preferred cadence but have a new appreciation for torque sensing due to this ebike

I ordered a Step Star with the dual battery, and although they charged me for it they didn't supply it. According to them, order got messed up due to a flaw on their website, although they have not made it right despite numerous phone calls and emails.

Is you get the machine when you call, keep calling back. I haven't had trouble getting a hold of them. Try calling between 9AM to 12PM

Almost every phone call ends with "I'll have to check with David Cleveland", but despite promises to get back to me the next day, and despite follow-ups on my part, no actual contact. Been 23 emails and 6 phone calls...

Can anyone tell me what the ergonomics of this style of bike are like compared to a Lectric XP, for example? I want a faster bike in my stable that can keep up with most local traffic but mountain bike style bikes are usually uncomfortable on my mid-50s back. Thanks for any input.
