Love this set. The pencil with notepad is perfect for list making, taking down info from a phone call or jotting notes. I prefer pencil rather than pen because you can erase rather than whiteout or scratch out pen mistakes. Also the pencils have cute designs. These would be cute to give away as little gifts to friends or even students. Awesome!

So cute and easy to do. I didn't know Staples will cut down pads. I've got to remember that tip! The only thing I would change is to have the pencils match my papers. Depending on my stash or price of new items, I could buy pencils to match my papers, paint the pencils in my stash or paint or gesso the pencils white then cover them in washi to match the papers. Dollar Tree pencil erasers on their pencils are often of iffy quality. They crumble or erase very poorly. If you want return customers, I'd make sure the pencils are of decent quality.

Absolutely loved your idea. Would love to know where you live as the Staples near me wanted $6 to $8 to cut the paper pads no matter how many they cut. I felt that made it cost prohibitive based on the price of their pads so I backed out.
@janetmanley11917 жыл бұрын
I got mine cut at a local print shop, they charged me $4 to cut 18 pads (got the pads at the $ store, 3 in a set for $1) So total cost on the pads was $10 for 54 skinny note pads :)
@barbarawhitesell56977 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that info. The $$$ Trees around here don't even have any of the pads in stock but if I could find a print shop, that was going to be my next option as soon as I can find the pads. Staples wanted $1.50 each for ones they were discontinuing and $9.99 for 5 in a pack so I am going to keep checking the $$$ Trees until I find them. TY again.

Thank you for sharing your ideas. I would like to add one thing that might be helpful. I started to think in terms of what I would buy at a craft fair. I tend to go for small items under 10 dollars, as we are on a somewhat tight budget. But if it had to do with notepads, I would be more inclined to buy them with pens instead of pencils. Though people, especially younger people, might go for the pencils. Also, I would be more likely to pick up a set I could stick on my fridge. I tend to need a place to jot notes most by the phone, making grocery lists, etc. So, I was thinking, Walmart has those giant rolls of magnet (self sticking too...though I'd reinforce with hot glue anyway,) for just a few dollars. Anyone could just snip a couple pieces off, hot glue them to the backs of both the pencil/pen holder, AND to the back of the notepad, and you then have something that most note sets do not. You have both a writing tool holder AND the notepad to stick on the fridge. If I saw them at a fair, I would definitely go for that and pick up a few in different styles, as that would be most useful to me. The magnets would make them worth the 3$, for me. =) Also having the choice of pens or pencils, or perhaps even a mix of both, would definitely tip it over the edge. Hope that helps somehow. =) Great ideas, love the holder. Again, thanks for sharing! =)

thank you Amber. I absolutely love the idea and the 20 I've already made (without bags or pads) are adorable. I got all my paper 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby. Got the notepads at Walmart . 5 white pads (50 sheets) for $.97. BUT I haven't ordered my bags yet and I have called every single office store in my very large city and the cheapest cutting I can get is $1.76 per cut for 199 sheets. I'm so disappointed. It looks like it is going to cost more to make than I can sell them for. I am still going to try some of your other fair ideas.
