Better solution, have an inline filter set up as the water comes into the house. That way you filter water not just thru the garden hose, but for showering and drinking purposes, washing clothes, and also if you have a furnace that uses water to heat a household.

I put one on each of the lines to my washing machine. After a few days, the sediment bowl had probably 25+ tiny pebbles from the well. Cheap assurance to keep debris from clogging appliances.

My apologies if I'm incorrect here, but it wasn't made clear as to what micron rating this wire mesh pre filter actually filters down to? I don't remember hearing you mention a Micron rating in which the wire mesh membrane would filter out particles from city water or any water? An example would be an in-line RV water filter from Aqua crest that specifies that there filters will filter out any particles 20 µm or larger out of the water in order to reduce chlorine and another hard chemicals in CITY water in order to protect the pressure washer pump but more importantly for myself is not leaving water spots after washing my vehicle or windows on a house etc. when I saw the 100 mesh rating which actually is a US filter rating that is equivalent to 149 µm in size so basically it won't capture anything that's coming out of your city water household garden spigot! It may be better suited for Wellwater, but more so if someone were to be drawing water from a pond or river? I'm not confident that this pre-filter will do anything but restrict flow to the pressure washer pump. I would think there must be some sort of sock type filter, similar to usable, coffee filter or something to that effect that would go over top of it first. Then I think it would filter out some of the hardness in city water? If you can find a better in line water filter, such as a RV in-line hose filter that will actually do what you were hoping this one would do. Just going by your facial expressions in lack of excitement for the product that product you we weren't too impressed with the product either?

Nice. Would be better if it had a flushing valve so you could clean the strainer without having to remove it or let's say remove it less often. One thing you will need to look at is if the pressure washer will shut down if it does not have enough water flow to the unit to prevent it from burning out. I would imagine they would have such protection but it's not something I know for sure, but it would be something I would look at just in case you forget the turn the water on, but it could have an internal pressure switch that turns the unit off should there be no water.

I wish pressure washers had that feature. Hopefully they can somehow add that in the future.

@@MikeLife1 you could add an inline pressure switch to turn the power on and off to the pressure washer. You could also install a tank with an air bleeder and a float between your water source and pressure washer so that if the water level were the float would do the same thing as the pressure switch, but you will need an air bleeder to allow the tank to properly fill. I would have thought this would be in a pressure washer, but I did not know if they had this protection or not. Running a pump dry is not a good thing.
