I threw one in Guadalajara 🇲🇽 and had friends from 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇮🇪 🇬🇧 🇲🇽 🇧🇷. It was the first time the non-Europeans had seen the song contest and they loved it!

OMG YES FINALLY I WAS WAITING FOR IT LOVED THE REACTION! just wanna introduce them to you for the future: the singer is damiano david (22), the guitarist is thomas raggi (20), the bassist is victoria de angelis (21) and the drummer is ethan torchio (20), the name “måneskin” is a danish word and it means “moonlight”, the story behind it is that they had to find a band name for a contest so they asked victoria to say random words in danish (she’s half danish) and they liked måneskin they’re very famous in italy cause they decided to participate to xfactor in 2017, they arrived 2nd but people continued to follow them and listen to them but the real deal came when they released their song “torna a casa”, very different from what everyone expected from them, but we loved it and it was EVERYWHERE especially cause of “marlena” the muse they mention often in their first album “il ballo della vita” everyone asked to them who she was and what was the meaning and so their career blew up. this year they participated to sanremo’s festival, the most important and famous music festival in italy and is well known in europe too (fun fact: the eurovision was inspired by sanremo’s festival) and måneskin surprisingly won it, so they were asked if they wanted to represent our country at the eurovision contest, they accepted and won about their music: damiano writes both in italian and english (so don’t worry you will understand some of their songs) he writes the lyrics and thom, vic and ethan writes the music. they released in 2017 an ep “chosen” with the songs they covered on xfactor plus two original songs “chosen” and “recovery”, they released their first album “il ballo della vita” in 2018 and the new album released this year “teatro d’ira vol. I have seen many KZbin commentators from all over the world move their heads up and down to the rhythm of bass, drums and electric guitar of this band of very young boys from Rome who started their careers as simple buskers ... The Maneskin deserve to travel the world to do live concerts!

Yup This was the winning song! It's not the norm that this type of genre wins (though it has happened a few times) so it was definitely special. And they sang in their own language too. It's always a plus for me. I mean you may not understand the lyrics but it's music and you almost always get the feeling of the song regardles of language. But of course some songs are lyrically important so if you don't understand it can loose it's meaning. It's not always easy to decide what language to sing in. Everyone do understand English so it's kind of easy to understand why so many chooses to sing in English. Growing up with this competition I always loved the differences from various countries.

just to let u know, it's one of the eurovision rules that they can't play instruments live, so it has to he part of the backing track. but the lead vocals must be sung live !!
