It's a real story with an unhappy ending. They'll never say who it's really about, but it's based on a true story. The castle in town at the end of the song is referred to a cemetery.

Another beautiful song absolutely with English Translated lyrics is TORNA A CASA
@CaravaggioRoma3 жыл бұрын
In the first part, he sings coraline, introducing us to her beauty and her heart split in half. In the second part, he speaks to coraline, trying to push her to move on. Then in the third part he tells about her refusal to change, her denial. Finally, the last part tells the end of her life and he gives us a hint about the reasons she decided to put an end to it all.

I love this group! Damiano seems to be an old soul in a young body in a lot of ways. The lyrics of many of their songs especially in Italian are so deep. His voice is not classically beautiful but, the emotions he evokes with it are really special….love the raspiness in his voice. The other band members are also very talented.
@alessandrac.44173 жыл бұрын
Hello. As far as I know, the song is a story of abuse based on a real person and it has an unhappy ending. There are indications of rape, depression, and eating disorders. It's very deep. On a very different note, yesterday the MV for their song I wanna be your slave dropped and it's doing really well. I suggest you react to that.

Coraline wants happiness (the sea) but she's afraid of water (life).
@onomatopoetisk3 жыл бұрын
I think ”the sea” can have several different interpretations. I have thought of it representing freedom/independence. She wants it but is the same time afraid of it.
@axellander953 жыл бұрын
I think is more like "coraline wants to be helped but is afraid to ask for help". That could also mean that the she has to help herself (the sea is inside of her). I also thought that this verse could mean that she committed suicide by drowning herself.

@@schuhschrank947 I'm glad you agree . But as a guy , in today's society , if a guy shows ANY type of emotion whatsoever , and especially girls and women , think you're weak, a loser , less of a man , so most guys just suck it in , and say nothing! That's why I said that !
@schuhschrank9473 жыл бұрын
@@gregorygant4242 Yes, that maybe the reality in a lot of situations. But I think it's wrong. Men should be allowed to show their feelings, too. I really like men that are not afraid to do that and show empathy and understanding. I live together for 20 years with such a man and he hasn't lost any of his masculinity in my opinion.
@gregorygant42423 жыл бұрын
@@schuhschrank947 You are an exception, most modern girls ,women , would say that a man that does that is weak, less of a man. So we, most men don't say anything. The trouble is most women SAY they want their man to talk to them ,tell them how they feel etc, but when they do it they then ,shame them as being ,weak, losers. Modern men can't win , so they just shut up and say nothing !

@@gregorygant4242 Where do you live?(If you don't mind me asking..) I live in Germany. Maybe it is a question of mentality. I have some male friends that even cried in my presence. First for the energy of 'Shut up and good' and then for 'Coraline', the poignant ballad that Damiano refers to that sets anorexia to music ("And I told Coraline that she can grow up / Take her things and then leave / But Coraline doesn't want to eat no / Yes Coraline would like to disappear "). A song, as revealed by the singer himself, written thanks to his partner Giorgia Soleri.

Hi, vocals Damiano David, drummer Ethan Torchio, guitarist Thomas Raggi, Base Victoria De Angelis. The song talks about an unkown girl who has never been mentioned by Damiano. The high and strong represent a cemetery "so that no one will be able to hurt you anymore".
@stefanogortaldi31563 жыл бұрын
the third part seems a useless repetition from the first but the lyrics do differ - it's the end of the story - a real and sad one, (unfortunately). Technically this is a ABA tertiary form (no one uses it nowadays) - another demonstration that this band doesn't give a damn about conventions.

Quanto devono scoprire ancora questi ragazzini...

The song describes a real story of a girl ( friend of Damiano) who was abused psychologically and sexually by her father and who, in the ending, suggests that the girl dies the final text of the song, in the part of the castle, The Castle in Rome is called the Verano the cimitery of Rome. So the girl is died and Damiano infortunately couldn't save her.

Coraline is about a girl that was a friend or something like that for Damiano (the singer and writer)... Coraline had a father who abused her .. and that's a story that hasn't a happy end. Damiano wrote this song in memory of that girl. Just to say to all the girls and boys who need help to ask help. Don't close your self in your pain, but ask help. This is the message of this song.

Coraline is the story of a child abused by her father. Her schizoid heart prevents her from loving what she loved about her because of her nature. Like her father who turns into a monster, so the sea and the river are reflected in her fears. The meaning of the good is reversed. The father is evil, so is the food, going out the door of that prison, seeing the future - for Coraline all this is steeped in great pain. A man who would like to help her in a safe place, a shelter for children taken from the family. He would like to give her shelter, affection, without asking for anything in return. But Coraline is broken, forever. It's a song about domestic violence.
