We're glad your family like it ❤️🙏😊 appreciate your support. I'm happy you can still found pandan at Canada, it's the classic flavor for Asian. Taste of home. I wishes you have a great weekend and stay safe ya.
Hi, thanks for the good video. Question: why do you need to use both the jelly powder and the agar agar? Why not just use either one?
@XiaoYen.AhSeng3 ай бұрын
Because they have different textures. agar agar is crunchy, jelly is bouncy. mixing it together will make it balance. Of course, you can use only either one.

Oh - this is the first time I hear the term " Penangites "! Innovative. I was watching another channel making a similar type of cake and your video was auto played after that finished. Glad I stumbled upon your channel which provides good details ! It is the first time I see a KZbin baking video which keeps the partly finished product in an enclosed container before placing into the fridge which appears to me like a very practical approach! 👍👍👍 All the time, I was wondering isn't it not so hygienic that all other video makers simply place their food in the fridge or freezer uncovered! But I didn't think of using a large container and have been trying to use cling wraps which isn't satisfactory and not applicable to all types of partially made recipes! Thanks for your sharing! Will explore your savoury recipes as well !

Glad you like our videos 😊🙏❤️ much appreciate your kind words. For me I'll try my best to make it less waste, because I care about the environments. The reason I keep in container is to prevent the cake dry and absorb the smells of fridge also keep it hygiene so it can at least last for 3 days. But when you want to eat cake, have to reheat it to kill the germs and of course more delicious to eat it warm. Thanks for coming and happy weekend to you ya 😊🙏❤️

@@XiaoYen.AhSeng Appreciate so much your replies and tips! You blow my mind - it has never occurred to me that I can warm up a cake previously stored in the fridge ! May I consult you how to warm up the cake? Especially those with cream? And yes - I am afraid of food carrying the " fridge smell" and delay putting them in the fridge as much as possible although there is a risk of rapid bacteria spreading! Wiell at least the texture and taste are better! 😛

😅 oops, sorry. I was mistake reply the cake which needed to reheat with you. usually I'll reheat those cake base which is steam or bake. But for those with cream and pandan layer cake, can't reheat only keep in container to keep it hygiene and finished it as soon as possible while it still fresh. For me I have weak stomach, usually just put in room temperature for about 15min before I eat it, prevent my stomach bloating.

@@XiaoYen.AhSeng Appreciate your honest clarification! It's okay that cakes with creams can't be reheated. Well, how do you heat baked cakes without cream ? I see you have a weak stomach prone to bloating. Me too! And I'd suffer other bad reactions whenever I eat cooling ( in TCM terms ) or chilled food/drinks ( in terms of temperature ). Knowing your own body as to which ingredients trigger more discomfort helps to minimise. Try to pay attention to how your body reacts after eating each type of food/ drink or even better, ingredient. For eg. I notice if I eat bread or noodles, my stomach bloats quite badly for days until I counteract with remedies. Haha just trying to share & hope it helps you ; or maybe you know already? Have a great weekend ( perhaps experiment more creative recipes ?😏) although Malaysia announced a lockdown yesterday !

Usually cake keep in fridge even in container will become dry a little bit, I steam it and let it moist and soft. If you bake it the surface will be cryspy and more dry, depends on your flavor. I have stomach problems since my teenage life, have lots of different experience with food and fruits lol of course, a healthy diet and habits can keep the problems balance in my body. I can't really eat ice cream but I still love to eat it. So my quota is like once or twice a month, eat it after meal and when stomach not in sick status. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
