മീൻ പീര | Meen Peera - Kerala style easy Malayalam recipe | Netholi / Kozhuva Peera Pattichathu

A simple Kerala Fish recipe using Coconut. Yes, it's none other than the delicious Meen Peera Pattichathu. Unlike usual Fish Curries, this is Malayalam recipe yields a semi-dry dish. It is usually prepared using small fish varieties, like Netholi / Kozhuva (Anchovy) and Mathi / Chala (Sardine). With out any over load of Masalas, this Kerala style dish is simple but amazingly delicious. The only thing to note is that since we are adding grated Coconut, this can not be saved for more days. Owing to the tasty nature of Meen Peera, it's highly unlikely not to finish soon!

Fish (മീൻ) - 350 gm (After Cleaning)
Kokum Star (കുടംപുളി) - 2 Pieces (10 gm)
Salt (ഉപ്പ്) - 2 Teaspoons
Hot Water (ചൂടുവെള്ളം) - ¾ Cup (180 ml)
Grated Coconut (തേങ്ങ ചിരണ്ടിയത്) - 1 Cup
Shallots (ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി) - 10 Nos
Ginger (ഇഞ്ചി) - 3 Inch Piece
Garlic (വെളുത്തുള്ളി) - 10 Cloves
Green Chilli (പച്ചമുളക്) - 5 Nos
Curry Leaves (കറിവേപ്പില) - 3 Sprigs
Turmeric Powder (മഞ്ഞള്‍പൊടി) - ½ Teaspoon
Coconut Oil (വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ) - 2 Tablespoons
