真正爱国的人，应当选这对最像样的夫妇，有实力又体面，深受国内国外政府尊重的，才能为国争光。反正总统不能上国会提问，反驳的力量真的是很有限。我们就耐心等待2025年大选时，再投一批有实力，有胆识的反对派人士，为我们上国会提问和发表意见。2025年大选过后，新的总理上任，他可否带领国家稳定繁荣是未知数，所以总统最好是个真正有才能，够稳重的人。😊

@7:52 我妈也是潮州人，在我迈入40岁时，也就是大约20年前，哪时她还和我同住，有一天她在客厅正在用针线缝点东西，在我走过她旁边时听到她自言自语的、有意无意的（?) 唸此句潮州民谣 “田螺弯弯为子死“ 给我听（尚达曼夫人所唸的少了 ”弯弯“ 两个字），我不明白为何 “田螺需要弯弯为子死“ ，当下即刻向她问明，她和尚达曼夫人有类似的解释 - - 田螺壳是螺旋型，”田螺“ 脱壳产子之前，需弯屈身体挪动才能脱壳而出，我才了解到”田螺弯弯为子死“ 的 ”弯弯“ 是指”田螺” 为子、为了后代子孙的繁衍，身体和身心灵都必须能屈能伸、甚至义无反顾的舍弃自己的护身遮盖脱壳而出 - - 意味着为子、为有後代牺牲牠的生命。

其实真正的潮州俗语没有弯弯两字，就是“田螺为仔死”，表示父母为了子女奉献了自己的一切，表达父母对子女无私的爱。

@@chankaan888 当年我亲耳听到我妈妈自言自语的唸 “田螺弯弯为仔死“，而且我当时因不明白为何需加上 “弯弯” ，才会刻意问我妈，我妈对 “田螺弯弯为仔死“ 的诠释才能让人看出田螺为何需 “弯弯” 生育后代，若此俗语当真少了 “弯弯” 两个字，哪么，我们就不会更深思田螺如何冒险、费劲脱壳的牺牲生命来完成繁衍后代的使命，这句俗语就不会更加突显 “田螺为仔死“ 所需做出的冒险和牺牲，可见，巧妙运用 “弯弯” 两个字，正是此句俗语的精华，也让人不禁要赞叹上天创造生物时看重繁衍后代，刻意在生物生育后代时加入奇妙挪动的动作让人去反思举凡生物生育后代也是天意使然，更何况是人类！

@@chankaan888 我还是坚持相信潮州俗语 “田螺弯弯为仔死“ 原本有 “弯弯” 两个字，这样才能凸显潮州俗语文化的微妙、精髓和可贵之处。当年潮语先辈移民来新加坡之后，他们的后人不都是有机会享用田螺或是在萍池周围生活的，加上他们的后人不是去英校读书、就是去华校，潮州俗语不可能通俗化，因此，不难理解少有人会唸和传承此句俗语，有听过却学漏了 “弯弯” 两个字是有可能的。就像我一样，在我40岁的时候，才第一次听到我母亲突然自言自语的唸 “田螺弯弯为仔死“ ，我妈若不唸出来，我还不知潮语有这句俗语。更何况，我的成长环境和许多人不一样，我还没搬进政府组屋之前，是在萍池周围耍完成长的、去萍池捉田螺来享用是我的儿时乐趣，加上，我们全家都喜欢享用田螺，因此，学和田螺有关的俗语，特别容易上口和记得。

新加坡未來總統是印度裔，除了英語、印度話，他比跟他競選的兩位華裔總統候選人更會說華語和方言，所以高得票率是必然的。這次選舉投票超過270萬選民，有超過200萬選民是華族，尚達曼他知道旺梨代表什麼！新加坡選民印象最深刻的是，他是第一個為新加坡真心照顧新加坡人民的財神爺！未來總統夫人爸爸是日本人、媽媽是新加坡的潮州人，除了基本的英語，日語，她更傳承了媽媽的潮州話。新加坡種族和諧，尚達曼一直是選舉高票當選的常勝軍，新加坡和印度、日本的情誼一直都是友好國家，現在可以更近一步了！

I vote for Tharman if he is my MP but as president, i cant. Tharman becomes president, he shall be wasted. He has to censor himself locally and internationally, SGP President cannot be someone going around to share his thinking. George Yeo has enriched us so much in sharing his reading, on the ground observations, analysis and thinking. If he was a president, his mouth would be zipped.
