I would find it hard to believe that anyone who played MSB's Heartland album wouldn't like it. Great music and song writing. This band just wrote great songs! People from Ohio especially relate to their lyrics....we understand "like a cold Ohio night, the turnpike's slick, the snow's as thick as deep".

Rock & Roll capital of the world..The MSB represented Cleveland with honor and with some great songs..deserved so much more recognition than they received nationwide ..i never understood how it was possible they were not known nationally in some areas outside of Cleveland..Hearing the bass player is out of Youngstown Ohio was cool..not far from Cleveland..This is my youth right here and i am 69 yrs old now..MSB was a big part of my years listening to Rock & Roll and to this day it still sounds just as great..MSB sold out shows everywhere they played here and in big arenas..RIP Michael and may your gift of song live forever

So sad to hear of Michael's passing, especially being born in, and living in, the Youngstown/Cleveland area. The Michael Stanley Band, AKA MSB, was a great 80's iconic band, and gift to music. Michael was a very talented song writer, who stayed true to his roots and fans in this area. Great song lyrics and music. Their album Heartland is one of the best albums I ever bought, every song on it is great! RIP Michael, you will always be loved and remembered, especially here! Thanks for all the music!

Amazing band. Good songs. I can see why they didn't become national stars, though. They don't have a front man. Someone with a much bigger ego and voice than Michael Stanley who covers the stage and demands that we look at them. Someone who would be insufferable in real life, but reach their absolute peak utility during the 2 hours a night on stage. Huey Lewis is the only 80s pop star who seems remotely normal and easygoing.
