Anytime I feel like I need to really connect with him, not just with a jump up or fun song, this takes me back to the days, when music meant putting miles on the road and the duties of everyone in the band that made a real connection to the fans. I can feel them hitting site after site, loving what they're doing, but also being exhausted at times while they play their hearts out.

MSB used to play to sold out clubs throughout the midwest and the "North Coast" they rocked the joint. If you grew-up in the late 70's that whole area was a treat back in the day. Jokers, Lincoln Park, the Agora, Cyrus Erie, MSB rocked it hard.
@davidbillman2643 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah ! The Flats were rocking hard back then . Michael played a lot of openings for te more famous bands too in larger arenas. I remember a "thank you" concert by WMMS in the old Muni parking lot , and he brought down the house. Damn good times. :)

Happiness wrapped up in Music. MSB and Cleveland put the Music in me. Long live this Type of Artistry. Micheal is one of the finest writers and stage performers the world has not know. I could not figure out why most of the country has overlooked this Legend. I now live in Tampa and have for 16 years. I tune in Daily online to 98.5 NCX, Clevelands Classic rock to Hear this legend as a DJ in the Afternoons 2-7. Love this Live acoustic set. So much sentiment displayed by the 3 of them. Good Post!

just a rendezvous to take you to a lover who was then but never now. This song is one of the jewels of MSB. They used to play at the New Years Eve concerts for a time. Stage Pass has to date the most incredible recording of this song. I ponder if this song is about holding on to the past.

I remember being at the battle of the bands at I think Solon High school, and I really fell in love with this music. I was at a party where Michael Gee attended in Chagrin Ohio. His real name being Michael Gee and his Father Stanley Gee started his career. I'll never understand why he never made it Nationally or even world-wide. The band was far beyond some of this crap that made it so much farther then him and for No "Good Reason"! Love MSB and I think this will also play at my funeral...lol

This was part of the soundtrack of my college years in Cleveland in the 1970s. I was a pretty good rock and ice climber by the standards of the day, but "You'd better know the way back down" would pop into my head unbidden when I pushed my limits too hard and got into a scary situation. 😃

It takes luck in addition to talent, Michael had tremendous talent and great band members as well, I guess he lacked the "luck." However, to really understand why Michael never made it "BIG" you really need to look at the competition he was up against at the time. Chicago, Kansas, Boston, Moody Blues and many many more.
@lisellesloan31913 жыл бұрын
I think their songwriting was a bit uneven, to be honest. But, as well, they were too diverse and musically talented for their own good. They did this opus, long and with all kinds of instruments, plus they did a lot of songs that were more pop rock. So, back then, those that liked pop rock didn't want to go to a more pure rock concert, and vice-versa. But, at any rate, the harmonies between the powerful blues-rasp of Stanley and the smooth, soulful tenor of Kevin Raleigh were some of the best in rock and roll, and worth the price of admission alone!
