Do not discount Frank’s suggestion of reputation damage - I know it’s not all your faults that the tables aren’t here yet, but trust me that I’ve held back on spending more money at Wyrmwood because we were told our table would be here by x date and it’s not here either. In two to three years round these parts, you'd maybe (if one side really pushed) have finished discovery and finalized pleadings. The court system would offer you trial time about two to three years after that. Frank did correctly note that COVID specifically and speedy trial requirements generally mean civil cases always get deprioritized. The public will accept a lawsuit taking a little longer than it should, they will NOT accept murderers and rapists being released untried because of delays.

I agree, sadly, that the best thing is make a deal that you'll share costs on the condition that the Tech doesn't leave until the machine is making parts, making them right, you have backups of your programs, and you all have the training to fix it the next time it fucks up (because it will - all mechanical things break). And once that's done, you sue for damages to recoup at least a portion of lost revenue from 6 months of delay and 6-8 weeks of your time fixing it.

Just from what I can tell of these people, they are not stressed about the 6 months. Every comp had to deal with a pandemic. 6 weeks of getting it this far, yeah, there DEFINITELY should be a consideration made. I believe they had to replace the CPU, too. From my perspective: The rail flexes when you clamp a piece??? WTH is this company doing? They should have caught that before now. This is a precision instrument. nM's can make the diff. In autos, this is where we would be seeing recalls and manufacturer paid fixes. Granted, every auto has recalls w/in 3 years of hitting the streets.

I was 50/50 on it and the kickstarter ended and decided I'd wait to see other people's reviews as to which wood to get and well.. not looking good lol. I can tell you that in any new product development, especially one at the scale this is at, these “hiccups” are really just a part of the process. The difference is that Wyrmwood lets you see all of that. They were talking in this episode about reputation. I have been a loyal customer for years. I can tell you from experience with absolutely no hyperbole that this company is hands down the best at customer service I have ever dealt with. They are probably even too nice about it to be perfectly honest. There isn’t a company I would trust more to deliver what they say they will deliver. Now if it’s just not in the cards for you or if it’s just not something your budget can allow for right now that’s cool. But if worrying at all about the quality of the product or whether they will deliver is the one thing holding you back, then you should go for it.

I'll be honest the videos this past month have made me really reticent about buying any Wyrmwood products just off how everything is going. Now granted I'm not in the market for a table so I'm not a lost sale but jesus just seeing so much money waste makes me upset. Now granted we're dealing in 2 different scales. Millions vs thousands but those thousands count. They took so long with the M&T which affected their timelines and would have led to furloughs of their workforce that they paid a million+ to acquire. If I worked for them I'd be pissed if I was close to being put out of work but then got to see them throwing 3000 dollars on a meme waffle tile (and I may be wrong maybe they'll be super profitable) or paying to bring in an adjudicator for a pointless Guinness Record (maybe it got them a big spike in sales? I don't have the numbers). A cursory google search showed the adjudicator option costing anywhere from 8k-21k + plus airfare + accommodations. And yet their Guinness video literally had the exact same number of views of the previous and subsequent videos. There was an article I found where Guinness wanted 21k + airfare to go to an ESA event. What a waste of money. Yes marketing is important but jesus spend that money making your products work! All those thousands should have been thrown into making your M&T work, into getting yourself back on track, making sure your employees still have jobs. I'm sorry but your marketing team with their silly stunts is not most important. And then we find out you're giving free tables to influencers. I may be a minority but I would never buy a table worth thousands of dollars off someone I saw on youtube. This isn't a t-shirt it's something of quality that should last for decades so I would scrounge your site for information. Again maybe those free tables will get you a ton of sales, I can only speak for myself, but I do see you throwing thousands of dollars of product at people which again...could be used to actually fixing your production problems.

@@bond4555 It's not a matter of those items speeding up or fixing the M&T. It's the fact that they're being negligent and wasting money that could be used in order to fix production issues. I'm not saying stop them from working but there's a difference between making videos for upcoming products (the adventuring party) and spending tens of thousands on jokes and pointless endeavors when they're already months behind (pandemic is not their fault). Take that Guinness money and throw it at the M&T maker to get a tech here faster (sue them for damages later). Take those thousands and add them to the CNC operator salary (have they found someone yet or are they still being ghosted?). Your marketing depends upon selling products and so far they've fallen roughly 8 months behind on production. The further you fall behind the less new people will put forward orders regardless of how much marketing you do. You need to fix production first. And while in this crisis they're just throwing money down the drain. Again they're wasting literal thousands of dollars while freaking out about furloughing the second location they just spent over a million dollars to acquire. Marketing is not a priority right now.

That salient piece of information seems to get missed out every time they've brought this up. I'm also interested to know what the legal stance is around things like loss of profits because of this issue. No tables have actually been sold. No one bought a table via kickstarter. You simply invested in the company and you might get a table back as a reward for your investment. Don't know how then the pledge manager fits into that scenario.

This episode specially, that email jason read clearly was dropping the "we're willing to admit the table doesn't work, but you didn't have things ready for us to confirm it works" line, and they just skipped over it... But at the same time that could be part of the legal process. They don't want to admit to it on camera with the issue being unresolved because once they do the game is over. That being said the table going out of square when it clamps seems like more of a design failure than a calibration failure. I suspect after the tech gets out there it is going to be a "well the M&T is defected, and they are replacing it" Situation.

If during Discovery, the M&T company's defense lawyer gets into Wyrmlife, I think Frank would be busier than a 1-armed paper hanger. Too much ammo for legal mudslinging; lawyers get rich while lawsuit languishes. This video basically gives everything away, strategy-wise. The decision to get the machine fixed at all costs (literally) is the right one for now. Leave the possibility of recovering damages for the future. Vaults with all the founders/key players in Wyrmwood gets to be a great Founders Set! Make it a reasonable price so that many people can buy or keep it high priced to make them potentially an investment (really? doubtful...). Doug's face when he is faced with the reality of the legal system and the new priorities in the Pandemic era was priceless! Yet; I was probably that naïve at his age. Many good discussions (without trolls!) on this video. This community is awesome!

For my 54th birthday last August my family and friends all chipped in to buy me a table..or at least you know do the Kickstarter. I can’t even remember the actual total..2 k or so. Now I live in Canada so first I had to tell them all Jan 22..or..so. At this point I think I will be very fortunate to have it for my 57th birthday…turned 55 this week. I will love it when it comes but..I literally JUST found out I am pretty sick. There is an excellent chance..I will never actually see it. Kind of a bummer. A visit from a tech is not going to fix a fundamental lack of rigidity in that scale of machine. Unless that tech is going to weld in gussets or extra material to add rigidity to the fence that machine will remain a paperweight and you should start the lawsuit immediately.

definitely agree with the lawsuit starting asap or atleast getting their ducks in a row before submitting paperwork but depending on jasons ability to troubleshoot machinery, a tech might be able to easily fix it depending on what is actually causing that fence to flex. if it's on the downward pressure, they could just need to remove a little bit of material, raise the fence up or tighten bolts somewhere. They have done a large portion of the techs work though, identifying the specific problem and now it's just identifying the cause. they did spend "$300-$400" on a ~$100 drop indicator so who knows what their ability is lol

Don't cave to that company to fix what they didn't ensure was set up properly to begin with. It means that the next time you have an issue, they'll ask you to share expenses again and you'll have established precedent that you're willing to pay it. Odds are a message from Frank will get them there on their dime, not yours. In the event that they don't, even if it's gonna be 2-3 years for a case to be heard, that suit would be hanging over their head for that entire time. Their other customers - or potential customers - would find out about it and it would hurt them the entire time until it's heard.

The problem here is that they never delivered to you a working product. They rushed the install and left before ensuring that everything was working as purchased. If this issue came up 2-3 years after you bought the machine and had been using it then I think it is reasonable to pay travel expenses. In this case you still don’t have the machine that you paid for and have spent 6 weeks trying to fix. Good customer service has them footing the bill here to make things right. (As they should have been from day 1!)

Agreed on the damages here. I got burned in another table fiasco some time ago (not WW) and I'm definately holding back on buying vaults and other products from you until I get delivery. There is a legitimate opportunity cost and lost sales for you, and brand wise it hurts WW for sure. I'm still excited to get a table, but honestly at one point I thought to contact to ask for money back and drop the table. I'm still in with WW but the roller coaster is killing me.

Wyrmlings are the ones getting screwed, and they have EVERY RIGHT to seek out those that are screwing them. And the backers HAVE SEEN THE DOCUMENTATION. So {{dolphin noises}} just needs to do an about face and get with Wyrmwood to solve the problem, or it {{dolphin noises}} could have a class-action suit that DWARFS anything Wyrmwood wants.
